The Messengers will not be returning for Season 2.
The series, about a strange meteor that hit earth, delivering to a group of people special abilities aiding them in their quest to find and defeat the devil and Armageddon, hasn't really found an audience in its early airings on Fridays.
Earlier today The CW also announced Hart of Dixie would not be returning for a fifth season.
Several new series pickups are being made in light of the cancellations, so there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
