Days of Our Lives Recap: Xander Attacks Nicole

Xander went on the attack, Eric and Nicole were on the run and Daniel was clueless to any of it on this week’s Days of Our Lives.
In a matter of weeks, Xander went from being the new, hot guy in Salem to being jealous of Daniel to becoming a complete psycho who's trying to kill Nicole. I’m all for a little action and adventure but this story feels like it's heading for disappointment for anyone who thought Xander had potential. The odds are, Xander will be out of Salem soon. The bigger question is whether he'll be on the run, in prison or in a body bag.
It was good to hear Eric apologize to Nicole. It should have happened a long time ago. He was right. Nicole was investigating Xander on her own because Eric was a jerk. Daniel too. I look forward to hearing Dr. Dan’s apology next.
One of the most ridiculous moments from this story was Marlena barging into Serena’s and demanding to know why she and Eric had broken up. What is it with the parents of grown children in Salem? They all need lives so they can stop meddling in their kid’s romantic entanglements.
Brady laid down the law with Theresa. He hates her but he doesn’t want his son to see it every time they cross paths so his solution is that they never cross paths. Passing Tate back and forth will be scheduled. Communication will be via e-mail. I know he’s angry but I doubt this plan will work long term. It already looked as though Brady was rethinking it after overhearing Theresa admit to being afraid of being a bad mom. If only Theresa felt secure enough to let that vulnerable side show through more often.
Will hit a new low as he offered to profile his therapist in a puff piece in Sonix magazine if he can assure that Will and Sonny can end up together. Even Kate can see that you have to put the work into therapy to have any shot at being successful. There is no magic wand that saves a marriage no matter how much Will schemes to make it happen.
One of the best Days of Our Lives quotes of the week was Will’s reaction to hearing that Paul will be the new model/spokesperson for Mad World…

Abigail and Chad were both miserable. How long will Abby be ashamed of her feelings for Chad and worry about her family’s reaction? It’s not as though Jennifer or JJ are up for sainthood? I also look forward to Abby finding out that Ben has been stalking her via her phone. Guess he’s not up for sainthood either.
Elsewhere in Salem, Paige’s tough girl act has been fun. JJ and Bev are a hookup in the making and I’m still completely unclear on how Jennifer’s mother’s mental illness can help Eve but I’m all for the use of character history in any story.
But with Eric and Nicole getting cozy in the basement, I have to ask...
