Days of Our Lives Round Table: Eric and Nicole's Second Chance?

at .

Eric and Nicole were on the run after Xander went on the attack, Eve’s plot for revenge included Marlena and Will sunk to a new low in his attempts to save his marriage last week in Salem.

Our TV Fanatic Christine Orlando is joined by Unavitasegreta and Simon05 from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives Fan Forum to debate Eric and Nicole’s future, Brady’s co-parenting plan and who is the most meddling parent on Days of Our Lives.

Do you think that Eric and Nicole have a future as a romantic couple?

Unavitasegreta: I hope they do! This past week reminded me how much I loved them together.  But this is still the Daniel Jonas Show, so I don't know what to expect.

Simon05: Yes, I think Nicole truly loves him and Daniel was just a rebound. Also, Daniel is just way too self righteous and judgmental with any woman he is with. I really think Eric loves her for her.

Christine: I had all but given up on them. Eric was such a jerk to her but Daniel wasn't much better. I’d like to see Nicole move on with someone new but if she and Eric can truly start over, I’m willing to set that aside and see where it leads.

Who is the most meddling parent in Salem?

Unavitasegreta: In the past, I'd have said Maggie.  But she's made progress since Daniel's last break-up with Jennifer. I think she passed the torch on to Jennifer.

Simon05: Surprisingly, this week, Justin. At every turn he seems to be pushing Sonny and Paul together (not that I'm against that) Where as Eve is too wrapped up in revenge to even parent and Jenn seems to have taken a step back which is nice to see.

Christine: It’s so hard to choose! But this week I’ll give the prize to Marlena. I couldn’t believe it when she barged in on Serena and demanded to know why she and Eric had broken up simply because Eric wasn’t returning her phone calls for an afternoon. That seemed like a pretty big overreaction.

Is Brady’s plan for co-parenting Tate feasible?

Unavitasegreta: It's a horrible idea! If Brady's plan works, then Tate will never even know what it is like to be in the same room with his mother and father.  But Brady is fickle, so I know this won't last.

Simon05: No, not if he wants to raise a happy healthy child. Parents need to communicate on some level and have some sort of respect for each other. You can dislike each other but Brady needs to let go of some of his seething anger and accept that Teresa is the mother of his child and he needs to cut her some slack for that fact alone.

Christine: No, it’s completely unrealistic. Brady has a right to be angry but there has to be a better way to co-parent his son. Of course, as Unavitasegreta pointed out, it probably won’t take him long to change his mind.

What should JJ do next? Continue to fight for Paige? Hook up with Bev? Move out of Salem? Something else?

Unavitasegreta: I'm fine with him doing anything except continue to fight for Paige!  They were/are the most boring teen romance I've seen on any soap.

Simon05: JJ needs to get into therapy asap and get to the bottom of his self destructive behavior. He seems to blame his behavior on Jack and his faults. Although he came to Salem because he was in trouble long before he ever knew about Jack & Kayla.

Christine: Simon05 is right. JJ has been in trouble of one sort or another for years. He has horrible coping skills and needs some help figuring out why he’s so self-destructive. I also agree with Unavitasegreta. JJ and Paige are really boring. I prefer them apart.

Eric and Nicole hiding from Xander was a traditional Friday cliffhanger. We haven't had many of them lately. Would you like to see more?

Unavitasegreta: Yes! It has been a long time since I've been reminded of what it used to be like before the internet and spoilers when you were left hanging until Monday.

Simon05: YES! I miss the days of soapy cliffhangers.

Christine: I prefer the emotional cliffhangers to the action packed ones but either way, they are fun and I wish we had more of them.

Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?

Unavitasegreta: I loved the Eric/Nicole/Xander scenes this week, but it does disappoint me that the potential between Nicole and Xander will never be explored.  I'd much rather have had a Eric/Nicole/Xander triangle than the Eric/Nicole/Daniel one we will probably be heading into now.

Simon05: Will and the fact that he is still so wrapped up on blaming Paul for his marriage problems that he doesn't look at himself and actually try to repair his marriage.

Christine: That Xander didn’t have a better story arc than becoming a violent psychopath. I had hoped for more.

What was your favorite quote, scene or story from the week?

Unavitasegreta: I loved every word that came out of Eric's mouth while in the boiler room.

Simon05: Finally the end of the torturous elephant saga.

Christine: Oddly enough, I enjoyed seeing Chad and Abigail miserable apart. Their distress just solidified that they belong together but I understand that it’s going to take time…hopefully not too much time.
