Homeland Season 5: Miranda Otto Among Four Series Regulars Added

at .

The Showtime hit has been busy casting new series regulars in time to start filming this week in Germany.

Miranda Otto, known for her role in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, has joined the cast as Allison Carr, the current Station Chief in Berlin, working directly under Saul Berenson.

Others who are joining the cast include Sebastian Koch as a German philanthropist and Carrie's boss, Otto During, Alexander Fehling as Jonas Happach, Carrie's boyfriend and legal counsel for the During Foundation and Sarah Sokolovic as Laura Sutton, an Amerian journalist in Berlin who also works for the Foundation.

Homeland Season 5 begins two years after the terrible events of Homeland Season 4 during Carrie's tenure as Station Chief in Islamabad. Carrie will be working for a private security firm in Berlin after a self-imposed exile while she tries to rid herself of the guilt and disillusionment of working for years on the front lines of the "war on terror."

With Saul back at the head of the CIA and Carrie in private security, it feels a little like the tables have turned for the two long suffering friends since last we saw them. Does it sound like a nice change of pace?
