Stitchers Season 1 Episode 9 Review: Future Tense

Churros for everyone!

On Stitchers Season 1 Episode 9, Kirsten got a better understanding of how a psychic's mind works and proved science can't explain everything. It was another solid episode, from start to finish, and Detective Fisher was finally given something to do.

Let's not waste anymore time and discuss "Future Tense."

A Confusing Stitch - Stitchers

The best thing about the relationship between Kirsten and Liam is he brings out an entirely different side of Kirsten. Kirsten has always been somewhat closed off and awkward in social situations, but with Liam she seems more relaxed.

Maggie putting doubt in Kirsten's mind when it came to Liam made complete sense. Why would he show up, out of the blue, and propose to Kirsten so quickly? You can see how the entire situation could be perceived as sketchy. Liam was too good to be true, and Maggie saw right through him.

Maggie made a lot of great points about any relationship Kirsten may find herself in. In their line of work they really can't trust anyone and tell the truth. They also need to be available day in and day out. Kirsten would never be able to have an honest relationship with a normal person because she'd be lying to them every single day about what she does for a living.

How freaking adorable was Linus when he was persuading Camille to go to dinner with him and his parents? You can't help but love these two together. Linus even picked the perfect time to butter Camille up; though the offer of homemade Indian food probably helped a bit.

I loved when Camille was trying on outfits to try to impress Linus's parents and agreed with Linus' assessment of the outfits she was choosing – she needed to pick something a little more parent appropriate. At least Linus was smart and quizzed Camille on things about his.

The entire dinner with Linus's parents was fantastic. Camille was definitely on top of her game and knew exactly how to talk to his parents. His parents were absolutely adorable.

Linus: What are you doing? You're getting them to like you?
Camille: I kinda thought that was the point.
Linus: But they like you too much. I mean, how am I supposed to dump you?
Camille: I thought I was dumping you.
Linus: Oh that's so emasculating! Alright, whatever, just reel it in.

The case of the week, regarding a psychic named Vanessa, was really interesting. You would have immediately assumed Vanessa would turn out to be a fraud, but it was clear early on she did have a gift and knew how to read people.

Speaking of the case, you'd think Kirsten would have learned by now to not let on she knows things only the victim would know. At least in this case she could have easily claimed she was a fellow psychic – you have to wonder why they haven't used the psychic angle when she reveals too much.

Of course Cameron would look at the science side of things and denounce psychic's altogether. It wasn't too shocking to hear Kirsten defend the whole idea of being a psychic considering she was in Vanessa's memories and saw the truth for herself.

In the end, Kirsten let go of Liam and told him she couldn't be with him because she still needs to find herself. In a not too shocking twist, Liam turned out to be the sketchy guy Maggie made him out to be and has been working with someone to infiltrate the stitcher program.

Who do you think Liam is working for? What do you think Liam's next form of action is going to be? Do you think Kirsten's premonition about Cameron will come true?

You still have time to catch up on the entire season before the summer finale. You can watch Stitchers online via TV Fanatic and make sure to come back to let us know what you think.
