The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Poster: Look Who's Front and Center!

The first official poster for The Vampire Diaries Season 7 was unveiled at Comic-Con in San Diego this week.

And it appears to offer a few hints at what's to come to this fall.

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Poster

Among the noticeable tidbits that stand out from this promotional photo are:

  • ENZO! After having his role reduced on The Vampire Diaries Season 6, isn't it nice to see Michael Malarkey as a featured player here?
  • CAROLINE! With Elena gone, it's rather clear Caroline will step into the role of lead female. She's right smack dab in the middle of the entire snapshot.
  • THOSE EYES! We concluded Season 6 with the arrival of the Heretics and with what appeared to be a decimated Mystic Falls. All the main characters here are sporting very serious expressions, highlighted by upward-facing eyeballs.

This confirms what Ian Somerhalder has said: that The Vampire Diaries Season 7 will return to a certain darkness that permeated the series back in Seasons 1 and 2.

We'll post a higher quality photo of the poster when one becomes available, but let the countdown official begin to The Vampire Diaries Season 7 kicking off on October 8, 2015.

Here is what we hope to see take place throughout the new season:

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
