Chasing Life Season 2 Episode 6 Review: The Last W

Raise a glass for Mr. and Mrs. Hendrie, y'all!

On Chasing Life Season 2 Episode 6, April and Leo finally tied the knot, but it came with A LOT of hurdles. I honestly thought they weren't gonna make it down the aisle after April's collapse, but I was wrong.

April now knows she's been taking too many risks, and she's put herself in danger. This should be an interesting storyline to watch unfold for the remainder of the season. Deep down she thinks she's going to be okay, but after collapsing at her wedding, she realized the truth.

Sure, she's probably going to be stuck in the hospital or at home for the foreseeable future, but she needs a break.

I'm continuing to like Frankie. She's a good addition to the show, and I'd like to see Amber West's commitment become a little bit more permanent. If Scott Michael Foster must stay away for a bit because of his commitments to ABC's Blood and Oil, she could come a bit more into the forefront.

That said, she was very rude to April, but she said what I've been thinking all along. It must hurt Leo that April still wants to be friends with her ex.

I'm sure if April was insecure about Leo being friends with an ex, he'd steer clear of them for her sake. Frankie was looking out for her friend, and she deserves props for that.

The wedding paved the way for grandma wars to continue as Marion Ross popped back up. I love the dynamics between the two grandmas, and it's clear that they do like each other. They just like to compete for the affections of their grandchildren, too.

I really felt bad for Natalie. She finally came face to face with another blood relative, but as has been the case in the past, everyone is just interested in April. Jessica Meraz owned her role tonight, I just hope that somehow Natalie can find happiness and not have to feel second best. I was really shocked when Dom showed up at the hospital, and she let him in. I thought she'd take this as an opportunity to piss him off, but she showed just how mature she really is.

Did anyone else cry tears of joy when Beth and Graeme had sex? It was clear she was only with that other dude to make him jealous anyway.

The beauty of a show like Chasing Life is that the writers are managing to throw in a lot of humor. The main subject matter would lead you to believe that the show is constantly a tearjerker, but with characters like these, it really isn't. There are a lot of threads dangling as we head into the second half of the season, and I can't wait to see what's next.

"The Last W" was a decent episode. Sure, it was a little predictable, but I'm interested to find out how April's life will change, and if she'll be able to remain faithful to Leo. I'm not doubting her, but when you have a love triangle, you've kind of got to be prepared for the worst.
