NBC Pulls the Plug on Coach Revival

at .

The 18-year hiatus on Coach continues as NBC makes a pass on the reboot.

NBC originally planned on reviving the series starring Craig T. Nelson, picking up with the titular character in his retirement years, assisting his son coaching a college football team in Pennsylvania.

Despite the straight-to-series order on the reboot for 13 episodes, the network decided to film a pilot, giving them the opportunity to reevaluate things going forward.

Apparently what was filmed didn't go over well.

The good news is you don't have time to get attached to Coach all over again only to have him ripped away from you again.

Will this news throw a wet rag over the current reboot craze? Probably not. With The X-Files, Fuller House and Twin Peaks still on the way, as well as murmurs of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air in development, it's possible nothing can stop it; not yet, anyway!
