TV Ratings Report: How Did Fox Premieres Fare?
Matt Richenthal at . Updated at .Fox debuted a pair of comedies on Wednesday night, both of which started with "GR" and both of which starred 51-year old television veterans.
And both of which fared reasonably well.
First, Grandfathered debuted to 5.3 million total viewers and a 1.5 rating among 18-49-year olds, while The Grinder drew 4.9 mil and a 1.5 rating.
Both shows greatly outdrew Utopia in the same timeslot a year ago... but that is saying VERY little.
Elsewhere:
- Scream Queens garnered 3.6 million and a 1.4 key demographic rating, down 10 and 18 percent, respectively, from its two-hour premiere and boding very poorly for its future.
- The Voice and Best Time Ever remained relatively even from last week's episodes.
- NCIS Season 13 Episode 2 (16 million/2.1 rating) fell 12 and 16 percent from its season opener, while NCIS: New Orleans (12.6 million/1.7 rating) and Limitless (9.6 million/1.9 rating) held firm.
- On ABC, The Muppets (5.8 million/2.0) decreased by 30 percent from its strong debut, while Fresh Off the Boat (4.8 million/1.7) fell by 21 percent and two tenths. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. kicked off Season 3 to 4.8 million and a 1.7, down sharply from from its Season 2 opener.
