Beauty and the Beast to Conclude After Season 4

Let the Beauty and the Beast farewell tour begin.
The CW confirmed today that the drama will go off the air following its upcoming fourth season.
Beauty and the Beast only averaged 879,000 viewers per week for Season 3, but Season 4 was ordered many months ago and is expected to premiere in mid-2016.
"I truly like it as a summer series," network president Mark Pedowitz told reporters at TCA in August. "It gives us original programming. One of our stated goals for the network was to have year round programming.
"We’re doing more and more of this, and having Beauty and the Beast gives us some scripted programming for summer. We are developing other things at this point for next summer. So I plan to keep it there."
Beauty and the Beast stars Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan in the title roles and is based, of course, on a classic fairy tale by the same name.
No Season 4 debut date has been announced.
