NBC At Midseason: What Will Get Renewed?

at .  Updated at .

NBC has already handed out renewals to four dramas.

Premature? A little, but the renewed shows have been very reliable performers so far this season.

One of them is the biggest new freshman hit and the other three are veteran dramas that we knew would be renewed anyway.

It's far too early to judge Superstore and Telenovela. They have aired once and not even in their regular slot.

How does the rest of the line-up stack up?

1. Blindspot

The show is currently NBC's number 1 drama. Season 1 is averaging a 2.33 rating and 8.34 million viewers. Over on the DVR, the show is adding on over 80%. Season 2 has already been announced, so rest assured, Blindspot will be on the air for at least another year.

2. Chicago Med

The third show in the Chicago trifecta has been posting very solid ratings. Season 1 is averaging a 2.02 rating and 8.93 million viewers. Over on the DVR, the show is adding over 50%. A definite renewal. Will NBC add a fourth show to this successful franchise?

3. Chicago Fire

Season 4 is up 8% to a 1.86 rating and 8.01 million viewers. 60% are watching within 7 days and the show is already renewed for Season 5.

4. Law & Order: SVU

Season 17 is performing very well for the network. Current averages are a 1.64 rating and 7.04 million viewers. The show is adding over 80% in the DVR ratings. The only thing that will end this show is if it becomes too expensive.

5. The Blacklist

The ratings are down 37% this year to a 1.49 rating and 6.94 million viewers. The show adds 65% on with the DVR and is already renewed.

6. Chicago PD

Season 3 is down just 5% to a 1.49 rating and 6.44 million. The show adds on over 50% within a week and is already renewed. Should NBC be renamed Nothing But Chicago?

7. Heroes Reborn

This rebooted drama has struggled in the ratings department. Season 1 is averaging a 1.36 rating and 4.48 million viewers. The numbers swell 82% with DVR added in, but it's hard to imagine NBC will renew it with the current ratings.

8. The Mysteries of Laura

Queen Laura is down 8% in Season 2. The show is currently averaging a 1.12 rating and 7.02 million. The show gets a very slight bump on the DVR. The ratings aren't great by any stretch of the imagination, but they have been very consistent. To the bubble!

9. Grimm

Ratings for Season 5 are down 20% to a 0.92 rating and 3.76 million viewers. The show is adding 90% with DVR ratings. The numbers are still very respectable for a Friday night, so expect at least one more season.

10. The Player

Season 1 averaged a 0.84 rating and 3.99 million viewers. The episode order was cut, but the show is effectively dead.

11. Undateable

Season 3 has slid 45% on Friday nights. Currently the show is averaging a 0.77 rating and 2.69 million viewers. The show doesn't play well on DVR. Stick a fork in it. It's done!

12. Truth Be Told

This freshman dud has averaged just a 0.63 rating and 2.23 million viewers. The episode order has been cut. It's doomed.
