Once there, Stefan and Damon teamed up to set in motion a risky plan meant to eliminate a new threat posed by Julian. But it didn't exactly work out.
Elsewhere, after a significant revelation uncovered by Valerie, Caroline found herself forced to face her new reality, even though it threatened to destroy her relationship with Stefan.
