Sad news out of the television world today:
Abe Vigoda, a multiple-tome Emmy Award nominee for his role on Barney Miller as Detective Phil Fish, died Tuesday in his sleep, according to the Associated Press.
He was 94.
Vigoda will always be remembered to many for his memorable portrayal in The Godfather, but his career spanned over 60 years on the big screen and small screen.
Other notable TV characters/shows on his resume include Santa Barbara, MacGyver, Murder She Wrote, Wings and Mad About You.
His final television series gig was voicing a character in a 2013 episode of the animated series High School USA!.
Carol Vigoda - the actor’s daughter - has confirmed that her dad died of old age at her Woodland Park, New Jersey home
