The future of Bones is uncertain.
When a series has been on the air as long as Bones, there are a lot of factors that come into play during a renewal process.
The Fox executives today announced at TCA they'll begin talking about that next week.
They have no intentions of proceeding with the series if both Emily Daschenal and David Boreanaz are not on board, that's a given.
If the decision is made for Bones Season 11 to be the end of the road, Fox Co-Chairman and CEO Dana Walden said series creator Hart Hanson and Co "will be given plenty of time to start writing a meaningful ending to the show. They have such a loyal fanbase, and those fans deserve a satisfying ending."
Walden assured the panel the ongoing legal dispute between the show's stars and 20th Century Fox over Bones profits will have no bearing on the decision making process.
And, the decision has been made to end Bones, but the real conversation on their end now is when they will do that.
They'll either decide to end it at the end of the current season or grant the series a 12th season, the end of which will be their ending point.
There isn't an exact return date for the series at this time.
What do you think of this news? Is now the right time to end Bones or would you like to see an additional season to wrap up the stories that are being told?
You can watch Bones online while you wait for even more news to be released.
