The Originals Round Table: Lovers and Losses

at .

Fans got a resolution to the Cami cliffhanger from The Originals mid-season finale. Pretty soon into The Originals Season 3 Episode 10 we learned that Aurora had compelled Cami to kill herself the minute she knew Klaus was in love with her.

While we didn't get a scene with Klaus uttering those three little words, Cami's pretty confident in his affections. Also she's dead-ish, so there's that.

How did we feel about The Originals mid-season premiere? We're glad you asked! Kick back and join us in the comments below!

What was your favorite quote or scene from "A Ghost Along the Mississippi?"

Paul: My favorite scene has got to be Cami posing as Aurora. It was excellent to see play out on screen and it proves just how much more engaging she’s going to be as a vampire.

Miranda: I loved that it was Vincent who helped Cami realize she could survive and thrive as a vampire. I really enjoy their friendship. Bonus points goes to Marcel and Elijah's celebration after defeating Tristan.

Matt: Both good calls. I'll go with a very basic one: Elijah saving Vincent by snatching the heart out of that vampire's chest and then calmly wiping his bloody hand clean with a handkerchief. It's nothing we haven't seen before, but Elijah's demeanor never gets old.

Pen a eulogy for Jackson.

Paul: Poor Jackson. You were the wolf shaped road block that sort of prevented Haylijah. Now you’ve passed, Haylijah can happen.

Miranda: Dearest Jackson, when you first appeared in New Orleans, I wasn't sure I liked you, but, like most characters on this show, you grew on me. Plus you were basically the only relatively normal parent in Hope's life. If you hadn't gotten your heart literally ripped out by Tristan, you probably would've had it figuratively ripped out by Haylijah at some point. See you in the great bayou in the sky.

Matt: You were the king of the bayou, but now the time has come to say goodbye, you. May heaven be filled with an endless array of bows, arrows and bourbon. (P.S. Try not to look down from there. Because Elijah is totally gonna be schtupping Hayley any day now.)

Is this REALLY the last we've seen of Tristan?

Paul: Hopefully, he’s pretty dull.

Miranda: We can only hope. Of the three newcomers, he was the absolutely worst. And by worst I mean most boring.

Matt: I think so. Nothing about The Strix storyline has held my interest.

Will we ever see Davina again? Does anyone still care?

Paul: I honestly don’t care. They have Cami poor material last season and it looks like it’s Davina’s turn to sit on the back burner for a bit, but Cami is way better.

Miranda: I actually do care about Davina and her story and I'd really love to know what she's up to and when she might return. I'm sort of hoping she's off trying to find a way to get her magic back and reviving Kol while she's at it.

Matt: Sure, we'll see her again. And, yes, I like her in small doses. There's nothing wrong with having characters sit on the sideline sometimes. That's much better than trying to shoehorn them into storylines.

Cami decided to transition. How long before she snaps and kills innocent people?

Paul: I actually think Klaus will keep her in line.

Miranda: Cami's "dark side" has been hinted at one too many times lately for her not to go nuts and kill some people. I give it three episodes before she slices someone's jugular with a beer bottle to take a drink.

Matt: Pretty soon, but let me just stop to give this storyline some props. Having a human transition to a vampire is the oldest trick in the book for shows such as this. But Cami's arc actually played out logically and emotionally; her call back to her uncle and his mission of trying to save New Orleans made perfect sense as the basis for why she'd want to stick around.

The Originals Season 3 Episode 10 Quotes

Hayley: I’m not exactly sure what you’re going to hunt in the French Quarter.
Jack: Hipsters.

I’ll tell you what I know about death, Camille. Death dances silently in everyone’s shadow, and she doesn’t give a damn. So why give a damn about her?
