How to Get Away with Murder Season 2 Episode 12 left us with quite the shock, as we learned what really happened to Wes's mother all those years ago. Or did we? This show has fooled us more than once!

Aside from the cliffhanger, we also got an unexpected kiss (yuck!) and a blackmailer that just won't go away. Join Rachel Miller, Amanda Steinmetz, Miranda Wicker and Whitney Evans as they discuss all the happenings of another twisty episode.

1. What was your favorite scene?

Rachel: Finally finding out the story about Wes’ mom and her real connection to Annalise.

Amanda: I loved the scene where Connor had to apologize to Annalise in order to get her help. He had to swallow so much pride, it looked painful.

Miranda: Picking up where Frank and Laurel left off with their discussion. There's so much hurt there and it was so well acted on both their parts. I really need them to make up because...

Whitney: I knew Laurel and Wes couldn't come back from Ohio without learning something and the last scene blew my mind. Wes is cray cray!

2. Wes and Laurel kissed. React!

Rachel: That kiss was pretty awkward to watch. I honestly didn’t expect it to happen. I’m just going to blame the kiss on Laurel and Wes being sleep deprived.

Amanda: No. No. No. This is all wrong. I like Wes and Laurel as friends and allies, not as a romantic couple. The kiss was uncomfortable and weird and should never be spoken of again.

Miranda: How very odd. I can *see* Wes and Laurel happening because she seems to attract men who are killers thanks to her wicked Daddy issues, but still. Odd. (Also, please god no love triangles. The TV world has enough of those already.)

Whitney: I covered my eyes because I was so embarrassed for them. I think that shows where I stand on this pairing.

3. Any new theories about what happened to Annalise's baby?

Rachel: I think either the baby passed away, or she gave it up for adoption.

Amanda: I really don't know right now. I guess I'll go with Rachel's answers: passed away or adopted.

Miranda: I think she gave the baby up for adoption over fear that the kid would one day kill her but probably told Sam the baby died. Something happened in what seemed like their otherwise happy marriage for him to become a serial cheater, you know?

Whitney: Good theory, Miranda! I think she gave the baby away as well, but I'm not sure what the circumstances were.

4. Was the team right to not give in to Philip's threat?

Rachel: It’s kind of a toss up situation. If they refuse to play any of Philip’s shenanigans, he will tell the police what he knows. Or they either give Philip the money and he ends up telling the police anyway. I’m just excited to see what will happen with Philip and the videos.

Amanda: I'll say yes. There was no telling what Philip was going to do either way, but giving into his demands gives him more of the power.

Miranda: Up until the moment the video of Nate and Annalise was sent, I was almost 100% convinced Nate sent it and not Phillip. I'm actually still not sure they're being blackmailed by Philip. There's just something about Caleb that doesn't sit well with me.

Whitney: I'm loving your theories, Miranda! I'm still not convinced Philip is the blackmailer either, but giving in to the threats was not something I could see Annalise doing. It's pretty clear this guy (or girl) isn't going anywhere, so the team better watch their backs.

5. We learned another bombshell about Wes, but do you believe it's true?

Rachel: There’s a possibility that Wes just may be a serial killer. He didn’t flinch when he killed Sam, and wasn’t hesitant to shoot Annalise. Wes could’ve killed his mother, but was probably so traumatized that he blocked it from his memory.

Amanda: I always thought Wes killing his mother was a possibility, but now I'm skeptical that it's a red herring.

Miranda: Honestly, this one was totally shocking to me, but yes, I think he killed his mother. However, Famke Janssen's character's "What did we do, Annalise?" means there's more to this story than what we're seeing right now. OMG! Do you guys think FRANK killed Wes' mother? (Also, how OLD is Frank?)

Whitney: I was totally caught off guard by the reveal and I think it's true. Wes has some serious issues and it's very possible that he just snapped and has suppressed the memory of that night from his mind.
