Arrow Season 5: Carly Pope Joins as Coast City Reporter

at .

Will the big story be on Oliver Queen?

It will be if Wendy Williams has anything to say about it.

Carly Pope has been tapped to play Susan Williams, a Coast City journalist who set her sites on Queen as a way to break into the big time. Goodness knows Oliver Queen should be in the news a lot more than he probably is.

If the name sounds familiar to comics fans, it probably would, as Williams is married to Jim Jordan, the little brother of Hal Jordan, none other than the Green Lantern.

Yes, we will come thisclose to the Green Lantern once again without going near the character.

With Superman making an appearance on Supergirl, it sure seems silly to keep Green Lantern away from The CW's DC family, doesn't it?

Anyway. Susan will make her first appearance on Arrow Season 5 Episode 3. Expect something to be going down with the new mayor.

Pope joins a slew of new characters coming to Arrow next season.

Josh Segarra joined as Adrian Chase aka Vigilante in a series regular role.

Rick Gonzalez will be recurring as Wild Dog, and there are two more new faces announced recently.

The Walking Dead's Chad Coleman will be a new villain named Tobias Church and Tyler Ritter will be a new SCPD detective named Malone.

Stephen Amell has been talking up Season 5 on Facebook.

He's super excited about what might be one of the longest one-cut fight scenes in television history, He's calling it "vicious."

Amell is also calling the season "meaner" than the previous, although I have no idea what that means.

If last season was supposed to be light, I can't imagine what areas "f*cking mean" could possibly embrace.

But, back to Ms. Pope!! You don't have to wait for fall to see more of HER, as she'll be on Suits this summer!

If these roles means she might finally find a steady gig, I'm all over it. She's been one of our favorites since Popular (and really is popular!), but never gets the credit she deserves.

On Suits she'll play an architect who will be interacting with the wonderful Louis Litt.

What do you think of this wonderful casting news?

Arrow Quotes

Oliver: You're right, it changed me.
McKenna: What kind of tough choices?
Oliver: I don't want to talk about those experiences.

Nice of you to use the front door for once.
