Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 1 Review: Tick-Tock Bitches

at .  Updated at .

That was a wild ride that really managed to change things for the better.

On Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 1, the liars found themselves between a rock and a hard place as they attempted to save their friend.

I thought they would genuinely go there and kill her. If the rumors are true that this is going to be the final season for the show, they really need to start killing people off.

Hanna would be a great pick because she is LOVED by fans. What better way to change things up than killing one of the leads? There's certainly still time to end Hanna.

The scene in the bell tower had my heart in my chest as they confirmed that she was dead, but then things took a strange turn and it was actually a doll with a mask of Hanna.

It’s a mask. This isn’t Hanna.

Caleb

Those masks are going to become a right pain in the ass. Sure, they're creepy and all, but it means that we could be led to believe that characters are doing stuff they really ain't.

Pretty Little Liars prides itself in being one of the shows that drags a plot to the death, so this could get old real fast. I'd much prefer if they just cut them out completely.

For now it seems like Hanna is pretty safe, but hanging around with the elusive Mary Drake is not going to do her any favors. She's going to have to fight for her life if she has any hope of making it out of her predicament alive.

The look on Hanna's face was hilarious when she saw Mary driving. Obviously, she didn't know that it was Jessica's twin, so she's in for a very awkward conversation.

Elsewhere, Elliot continued to make Alison look crazy and It seems like the liars are actually starting to believe him. That confession Ali gave Emily was plain silly.

As if you would believe what someone says who is high on drugs. That was just silly. The thing that was more incriminating for Ali has got to be the jacket, but I'm not so sure that it was Ali walking down the street. It looked like Cece.

Then again, it could be someone conveniently wearing a mask. A scene that I found really odd was the one with Emison in bed together. The reason being that the bed covers were the same. It made me question whether the two of them could have been having an affair behind Elliot's back.

I also thought that Elliot could actually be Wren, or be related to him. He is a bit taller than Wren, but logic isn't something that's heard of in Rosewood.

For now, Alison is very much in trouble due to Elliot thinking that she's the killer. Will anyone be able to get her out of this mess?!

It sure looks like Spaleb are over. I get that Caleb was worried about Hanna, but he should not have been so direct with Spencer. Hanging up the phone on her was just plain rude.

Bye to you, too.

Spencer

He has a lot of explaining to do if Hanna returns home soon. Spencer is going to be the one that gets hurt in this mess. That's why you shouldn't date your BFF's ex-boyfriend.

It looks like Ezria are about to make it up. That's if Liam doesn't manage to get in the way of it. It would be great if Liam just stayed gone, but considering he has to work with both Aria and Ezra on the book, the chances of him popping back up are pretty darn high.

We can't forget the opening scene. The liars (minus Hanna) legit kill someone, but who the frak could it be? There's a good chance we'll find out on Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 2 considering this week's episode concluded three days before that event.

"Tick-Tock Bitches" was a thrilling installment of this Freeform drama. It certainly seems like the show is gearing up for a last hurrah, but Freeform could go and ruin that by trying to get another season. It's time to bring this story to a close...for good. The fans that have invested so much time on the show deserve this to be it for the show.

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • Did anyone else dig Caleb and Mona teaming up? I never in a million years thought that these two would have chemistry, but it's really there.
  • The scene with Hanna being attacked was brutal and uncalled for. The writers are really trying to push the boundaries with this storyline. How many times do the gals have to be attacked before it's too much?
  • Everyone was a little too quick to blame Alison. It was obvious that Spencer and Mona voted one another as the suspect. They have this rivalry going on and they really need to put it to bed. They're fighting on the same team.
  • Aria's comment about Ezra finding a toy in Ali's room was hilarious. How did the two of them make it through the window so quickly before Elliot caught them?

What did you think of the premiere? Who did the girls murder? Should this be the end of the line for the drama?

Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 1 Quotes

Alison’s not the only one seeing ghosts tonight.

Aria

Emily: There must be another way.
Spencer: There is no other way, Emily. It was a well thought out plan, but when it ends like this it’s called first degree murder.
