Reign Season 4 Adds Will Kemp as New Royal Suitor

Are you ready for Mary to marry again?
Alright, it might seem a little soon since we were all so very attached to the dear King Francis, but Mary's next suitor, to appear in Reign Season 4, should eventually become her husband.
Will Kemp will join Reign for at least three episodes with the possibility of becoming a season regular.
Kemp will play Lord Darnley, a character based upon the real life second husband of Mary, her second cousin with whom she fell in love while mourning Francis.
Darnley is confident, charming and warm with his own blood ties to the English throne.
Unfortunately for him (and Mary), he also has one of those crazy mothers who loves him based solely on his ability to secure a crown for himself. Nice lady!
Apparently, the courtship between Mary and Darnley is rather quick.
Once Mary and Darnely got married, however, he turned into a bit of an arrogant ass and things started to go downhill.
Darnley was subsequently murdered, and people wondered if Mary might have had a hand in offing him. Queens can get away with murder, right?
Reign is definitely in need of some new male blood, as the series lost both Francis and Bash during Reign Season 3.
While I cannot speak for the character of Lord Darnley, I'll hand out tickets to a performance featuring Will Kemp.
Why? Because apparently Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce's loss is Reign's gain.
In no time at all, Kemp's character on GG2D became one of my favorites, and that was in no small part due to Kemp's ability to play charming and romantic (and undeniably frustrating) very, very well.
It was with great sadness that I read of his Reign casting on Deadline and learned he had completed his arc on Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce.
That makes the future of one character on that show, at least, a lot cloudier.
But, like I said, Mary's future (even though there is a murder possibly nestled in with Darnley's arrival) all the brighter.
So while the loss of Francis and Bash might seem like too much for Reign viewers to bear, hopefully this casting notice and rousing endorsement of Will Kemp's addition will give you something to look forward to.
