Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 6 Review: City Upon a Hill

at .  Updated at .

The situation is growing more and more dire as supplies are dwindling and food is running out.

The stakes are raised and Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 6 claimed yet another victim.

Okay, it actually claimed more than thirty victims, but only one that matters to us.

Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 6

So, first Adam saves Theresa's life, bringing her to the hospital where Theo is forced to stab her in the chest so she can breathe. Then later he decides to end it all and let her join her husband and son. He could have saved her a lot of pain and suffering by just moving the process along out in the field.

I get it, he saved her because he loved her, and then ultimately decided he was being selfish. Still, that really wasn't his decision to make.

We are running out of Wayward Pines Season 1 holdovers to kill off and there are still four episodes left. Between Megan, Jason, and Adam, I figure at least one of them will survive, but it wouldn't shock me if none of them did.

Kerry: How low are the supplies?
Theo: It's not an exaggeration to say that people could soon be dying of a sinus infection.

So, back to the direness of the situation. Jason can deny it all he wants, but these abbies are capable of planning, and they planned to destroy those crops. CJ says they've got about six weeks until they starve to death, so Theo probably doesn't need to worry too much about synthesizing penicillin right now.

Dying of a sinus infection is pretty rare, and they've got bigger problems.

It does seem kind of ridiculous that Pilcher skimped on the medications and antibiotics, but made sure to stock up on vials of smallpox for some reason. Yeah, that makes sense.

Also, wouldn't those antibiotics be long expired anyway?

Adam obviously knows something about the female abbie and the brand on her hand, but we'll have to wait to find out what that is. That cliffhanger looked pretty ominous, but that's how every episode has been ending so far.

The brain abnormality that Theo found must be how she communicates with the males. I guess she's the one pulling the strings, since she stays all calm while the guys go berserk.

The season is getting better with each episode as the tensions build and stakes are raised. I'm getting very curious how it is all going to end. Maybe they'll find a way to interact and communicate with the abbies and stop killing each other.

Though, if all of Adam's cryptic sayings are any indication of what's to come, then I'd have to say that's pretty unlikely.

The best part, besides all the action and blood, was that we got to take a break from the ridiculous reproduction story line. There was the one scene where Jason suggests that he and Kerry have a baby, but that was it. I'm actually glad for that scene too, because I've been wondering for weeks why they weren't doing their part to ensure the future of humanity.

Bartender: So, what'll it be?
Theo: Well, I tried your beer, which is revolting, and the whole celery/soda thing, I don't know what that is, so, your choice.

Poor Theo can't even get properly drunk in this town. That's probably a good thing, since he's the only doctor.

No progress was made really on the Theo/Rebecca/Xander front, other than Xander is not about to simply step aside and let Theo have her. He wants to move back into his house. Though, to be fair, he didn't say Theo had to move out. Maybe he's cool sharing.

So what's the deal with that cliffhanger? Hit the comments with your theories!
