It's wonderful being the bearer of good tidings!!
Younger Season 3 will premiere on September 28th!!
And when the third season is over, you can rest assured there is more to come, because TV Land announced today the series has been picked up for Season 4!
“The show is a force in and of itself, so it’s a no-brainer to renew it again,” said TV Land EVP Keith Cox. “Critics and fans love it, and I know Darren and the entire cast and crew behind ‘Younger’ will continue to deliver at the top of their game.”
It's hard not to equate this good news with the incredibly successful weekend TV Land had at the ATX Festival in Texas.
Younger, in particular, faced a sold out panel that was met with rave reviews afterward.
I had the chance to interview the cast and they were some of the most wonderful people you could meet. They're genuine, believe in each other, in the show and have a lot to say about the theme of Younger.
Younger is about Liza (Sutton Foster), a 40-year-old divorced woman who discovers it's not as easy getting back into the working world as she thought.
Her career of choice, publishing, especially skews young for someone who has been out of the market for as long as she has, so she decides, with the help of her best friend, Maggie (Debi Mazar) to go younger.
As a 26-year-old, the doors suddenly open wide. After all, she has the experience and wisdom, just not the practical application. But at 26, she's the best of everything.
Of course, the age thing does cause a lot of dilemmas.
She has to suddenly learn all of the latest technology and buzz words. It's more difficult than she thinks, even with a teenage daughter.
And about that teenage daughter...she can't really have her. Nor can she have her graduation year or the actual history of Liza.
She can have a new 26-year-old hunky boyfriend named Josh (Nico Tortorella) who is sweet as pie, a new best work friend named Kelsey (Hilary Duff) and some awesome bosses (Miriam Shor and Peter Hermann) at her new job.
Things get confusing and funny and incredibly heartfelt as Liza's worlds collide.
Does she need to keep the secret? When Josh finds out, he's not so sure. He likes her older and honest. Would everyone else agree?
The truth is always just around the corner, as the group gets closer and closer. Maybe it will be Kelsey's best friend Lauren (Molly Bernard) or the brother of her dead ex-fiance, Chad (Dan Amboyer) who will discover the secret and spill the beans to Kelsey.
With as close and interdependent Kelsey and Liza have become, learning the truth about Liza could go either way for Kelsey.
Keep your eye out for the interviews in the coming weeks, and be sure to watch Younger online if you want to catch up before Season 3.
Younger returns September 28, followed by a new season of Impastor, which has been pushed from its June 26 premiere date.
