Steve quit Black Pawn to please Kayla, John and Brady questioned Deimos about Tate’s kidnapping, and Sonny Kiriakis moved back to Salem!
Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Stickywicket from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Steve’s future as a bartender, if Summer is finally, really gone, and why Adriana hates Hope so much after this week’s Days of Our Lives.
Do you think Steve will be happy as a bartender?
Jack: No. Kayla is right. This isn't Steve at all and the only way he will be happy is if it leads him to investigate Eduardo's problem.
Stickywicket: I don't think this is the job for him. It will not be in his personality to sit by and watch someone get picked on, after having one too many drinks. So, once again we will find him putting himself in a dangerous position.
Christine: Ugh. Steve will be bored to tears. I liked having him work at Black Patch and I wish Kayla didn’t have such issues with it. I feel like Steve and Kayla are just going round in circles and it’s getting annoying.
Is Deimos behind Tate’s kidnapping?
Jack: I doubt it. I think he was with Chloe at the time.
Stickywicket: I have a feeling he might be. He is trying to make amends with his family in one end, but I can see him always needing some kind of leverage against his brother Victor.
Christine: Even though the timing doesn’t make sense, it wouldn’t surprise me. I don’t trust Deimos and I don’t think I ever will.
Will Summer be back in Salem any time soon?
Jack: I hope not. She finally left and I want her to stay gone.
Stickywicket: I think we have seen the last of Summer, she gave Theresa and Brady a clue, perhaps in a moment of desperation for what she did to Theresa.
Christine: Oh please, let her finally be gone. They’ve teased her departure so many times that I’m hesitant to believe it but I really want to see her gone for good.
Does Adriana have reason to hate Hope?
Jack: Yes, but she doesn't know it. Hope murdered Stefano and called Rafe to help her cover it up.
Stickywicket: I am not sure why Adriana hates Hope so much. She may be thinking if Hope wanted to be with Rafe she would have chose him over Aidan and not needed the time to explore her feelings with Aidan in the first place.
Christine: I never saw it as Hope calling Rafe to cover up her crime. I think if he had arrested her, she wouldn’t have fought him, she was such a mess at that moment. As for Ariana, I think she sees Hope as some sort of black widow whose husbands end up dead. It’s not rational, but Rafe is her son so I can give her some leeway for being overly protective, even if he is a grown man.
Sonny is back! Do you want to see him in a relationship with Paul?
Jack: No. Paul becomes an obsessed stalker every time he's around Sonny and now that there's no Will I'd like to see Sonny with someone new.
Stickywicket: I think this would be a great storyline for both of them, so yes, it has a blank canvas and lots of potential.
Christine: I’m not sure. I think there’s potential there. They always did have nice chemistry, but if the show heads that way I hope they take it slow. I’d love to see them grow the relationship and not just jump into bed.
What, if anything disappointed you this week in Salem?
Jack: This stupidity with Steve lowering himself. Also, has anyone told Steve yet that his niece Abigail is missing too? And another week with no JJ.
Stickywicket: I thought Deimos denying he knew the man he did business with and had ties to the Greek mob, when questioned by John and Brady. He obviously lied and it showed he was up to something and not trying to come clean and be a better person.
Christine: I hate that Steve quit Black Pawn when we just started getting scenes of him working with John and Paul. There’s so much potential for fun and drama there. Tending bar just sounds boring.
What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline of the week?
Jack: Victor's semi-apology to Deimos.
Stickywicket: I liked the scene between Victor and Deimos at the mansion. Victor agreed to a truce but spelled it out to Deimos that they both know this is really not the end of their war.
Christine: I don’t know which was funnier: Victor referring to Roman as “Deputy Dog” who couldn’t find the hole in a donut, or Adriana referring to the “Park of Death”? They both made me laugh.
