Things are about to get crazy on Gotham!

The Walking Dead's Benedict Samuel has joined the Fox drama as Mad Hatter. 

He obviously doesn't go by that name during daylight hours. 

Instead, he goes by the name of Jervis Tetch. 

Tetch arrives in Gotham as a talented hypnotist, but is teetering on the edge of madness. 

His main mission in Gotham is to find his sister, Alice, who went missing in the city several years ago. 

In a city like Gotham, people go missing all the time, so he's going to have his work cut out if he wants to find her. 

There's also the chance that she could be dead, but it seems like that's something he doesn't want to believe. 

How will Jim Gordon play into all of this?

Might he join forces with the Mad Hatter to help find Alice?

All of the finer details are really up in the air at this stage. 

Further details are scarce. 

One thing is for sure: Tetch will meet a whole world of evil when he sets foot in the wicked city. 

Samuel most recently appeared on The Walking Dead Season 6 as a villain who caught Carol Morgan as she tried to rehabilitate. 

His character wasn't to be trusted and Carol ultimately had to put him down in order to prevent more of her people dying.
