Is the prison storyline a drag?

On Suits Season 6 Episode 2, Mike found himself in mortal danger when Frank attempted to stab him.

TV Fanatics Stacy Glanzman, Christine Hinton, Jasmine Blu and Allison Nichols discuss Mike's situation, Louis' big idea and whether the prison storyline is already stale.

Should Mike accept help from Harvey?

Stacy: I can see it both ways. Mike just got to prison and he's going to be there a while. He can't have Harvey bailing him out of every situation. However, this is a pretty big situation, and if Harvey can get him out of it without making it worse, then he should let him do it. There's no shame in accepting help from people who love you.

Christine: At this point, yes. Mike’s life is in danger because this guy has a vendetta against Harvey. Harvey can’t get involved in every battle, but if he can have this one guy transferred, he should do it.

Jasmine: I agree with Stacy. On one hand he didn't want "Dad" bailing him out, because it could cause more harm than good. On the other hand, he needed the help. It's a serious situation that involves Harvey too. Harvey helping benefits both of them. Poor Harvey! He caught hell for not helping enough. He caught hell for helping too much. The guy couldn't win.

Allison: It's a very tricky situation. I think that Mike should keep Harvey in the loop. Harvey needs to know what's going on in prison with Mike. As far as help goes, I think Mike needs to fix some problems himself. He can't look weak, but I do think there are some things he needs Harvey on.

What did you think of Louis hiring all the extras for the office?

Stacy: That was funny and a pretty good idea. He probably should have run it by Jessica first to make sure they were all on the same page, but it's still good to see him taking initiative.

Christine: That was awesome. Expensive, but awesome. At least with Jessica’s idea to sublet, the office will look busy and they’ll be making money instead of spending it. That’s why she’s the leader.

Jasmine: Jessica had it right. It was a great idea but poor execution. I'm really loving Louis so far this season.

Allison: It was such a Louis thing to do. I loved it. I wish it could have gone on for longer because I've missed watching Louis yell at underlings.

Were you surprised that Jessica helped Jack?

Stacy: Not really. It made sense that she would come around to that decision. She's definitely smart enough to figure out how to handle it so it doesn't come back to hurt her later, and that's exactly what she did.

Christine: As much as she hides it under that tough exterior, Jessica has a heart. She also has a brain, which means she wasn’t going to help Jack if it meant hurting herself in the process. In the end, she found a way to help them both.

Jasmine: I wasn't surprised. Jessica plays chess while everyone else is playing checkers. They need more friends than enemies right now. Jack was such a shifty character that I didn't want her to help him at all.

Allison: Can Jack just go away? I'm tired of him. I'm not surprised that Jessica helped him out. Hopefully Jack will return the favor.

Will the firm really be able to move on from all this drama?

Stacy: I hope so. It's hard to watch them suffer like this, but I also like how much it's brought them together. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

Christine: Yes, but this situation can, and should, change things and give everyone a different perspective. I’m enjoying the upheaval but I’ll be happy when they start concentrating on cases once again.

Jasmine: For their sake, I'd like it to. I love how it has brought all of them together. As a viewer, I also think it would be interesting if it doesn't work out. They have already blown everything we've known to bits. What would a real clean slate look like?

Allison: Eventually they will be able to. It's going to be an uphill battle. I like that Jasmine poses the clean slate question because I can't answer it. I'm not sure if Pearson Specter Litt can have a clean slate.

Are you sick of the prison storyline already?

Stacy: Not at all. It just started! I'm looking forward to seeing Mike adapt and use his brain for good in there. He's going to struggle of course, but he'll eventually figure it out. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him get revenge on his tormentor.

Christine: Sort of. I’d like to see this be more about Mike’s growth as a person than him being in peril each week. I want to see less bad guys and more Malcolm-Jamal Warner!

Jasmine: I agree that it will get tiresome if it's just about Mike in peril every week. I want to see more of Mike's growth, like in Suits Season 5 Episode 10. Prison should be a chance for him to face his demons. His dynamic with Malcolm-Jamal Warner's character is intriguing and worth exploring. If it's going to focus solely on Frank's vendetta, Kevin being shady, and Rachel being obsessive and overprotective I'm going to lose interest.

Allison: I'm still intrigued by the prison storyline. I agree that Mike needs to do something other than be in peril. I would love to see Mike come out of prison a better person or even just have some comedy in the prison storyline.
