Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 8 Review: Pass Judgement

The abbies were just peaceful creatures minding their own business before Pilcher came along and opened fire.
He's gone now, but the mess he left behind is not going away.
The whole town was in panic mode on Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 8 after Margaret escaped her captivity.
It's interesting how important this one abbie is. She has a lot of pull. Do they believe in democracy? Did they elect her? Is she a dictator?
All we know is that mark on her hand means something. Maybe it's a monarchy and that's equivalent to royal blood.
Regardless, her escape led to the town taking cover and locking themselves indoors. Except for Frank and Lucy that is, who thought it might be fun to take a stroll across town to find Rebecca.
That was probably not the smartest idea. Children who want to be helpful usually just wind up being liabilities. Nothing actually came of it though, at least, not so far. They still have two more episodes in which they could do something stupid and get themselves killed.
Theo: Why is everything here someone else's fault?
Rebecca: He was just trying to help Theo. He's sorry.
Theo: That's enough? Accidents happen, that's enough?
Rebecca: Yeah, it is. Sometimes accidents happen here.
Whoa, yeah, talk about double entendres. So Rebecca is pregnant with Xander's baby, and we all realize we've been tricked into watching a soap opera.

Theo's easily my favorite character. What can I say, I relate to skeptics and people who think logically. However, it doesn't really seem like he and Rebecca are a good match. As she said, he's her Boston husband, and Xander is her Wayward Pines husband. It's just different in this place.
Of course, it might have helped if they had woken Theo up sooner and actually let them be together rather than pairing her with Xander.
I wonder though, is this baby really an accident? Is any baby an accident in this town? I mean, the women have all pretty much been reduced to baby factories as it is. Rebecca is kind of a rebel though, so she would be the one to actually get pregnant by accident.
Will she tell Theo before the end of the season? Will one of them die before she even has a chance? I'm doubting that one. Xander on the other hand could be expendable.
While Rebecca is getting knocked up and keeping it a secret from husband #1, Kerry is keeping the opposite secret from her main squeeze. Due to complications from her surgery after the abbie attacked her, she is unable to have kids.
As many mistakes as Jason's made over the course of the series, he came through when she broke down and told him the truth. He obviously does really love her. It does make you wonder if he'll let up on the rest of the town's occupants, or if she's his only exception.
I mentioned before with Frank's situation, not being able to procreate shouldn't mean death or exile. These people can still be productive members of the town, and killing them doesn't benefit anyone.
Hey, Jason has a nursery all ready to go, and a desire to have kids. Rebecca's got a kid on the way and seems pretty shaky on whether she actually wants it...
Adam: So what do you say doc, we bag this trophy, have a little victory dance on Main Street?
Theo: She's not a trophy.
Adam: You better hope she is.
Adam letting Margaret go and then following her through the pipe was an interesting decision. I'm not really sure what he was hoping to accomplish, but Margaret exerted her power and let him live. Now that the pipe has been blown up, does that mean the abbies are cut off from the town? Or will they find another way in?
We only have two episodes left and I really have no idea how it's going to end, but I am excited to find out. Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 9 will force Theo and Xander to put aside their differences and work together. I can only imagine how that will go.
