Bones: The Final Season Gets A Premiere Date and New Time Slot

Yes! Bones is coming back.
Precisely at 9/8c on Tuesday, January 3.
In true testament to the staying power of Bones, the show will have aired in six different time slots on five different nights by the time all is said and done. Assuming Bones Season 12 finishes where it starts!
It will be airing directly following two comedies. The time slot debut of New Girl and premiere of The Mick.
Bones is replacing a new reality series called Kicking & Screaming, which has been held back for sometime in midseason. I have no idea what that one is about, but it sounds unpleasant.
“From the very first season, Bones was called ‘The Little Engine That Could,’ so we could not be prouder of ending up as Fox’s longest-running scripted drama,” said creator and executive producer Hart Hanson.
“And we got there because of an insanely loyal, loud, lovely, lively audience.”
And what is to be expected from the twelfth and final season? Let's take a look.
A wedding (are we guessing Cam and Arastoo?).
Another challenge in the works for Booth and Brennan and their marriage. Because that never ends.
A lot of returns, including past squinterns, past guest stars and even a love interest (for who?? Isn't everybody taken?).
There's going to be...wait for it...a lumberjack competition. Because what season of Bones isn't complete without one of those??
And, finally, for real this time, a season wouldn't be complete without an epic serial killer storyline. And, frankly, even thought I love these characters, seeing one of them caught in the crosshairs and killed would certainly raise the stakes.
As long as it isn't Booth or Brennan. The world does not revolve around them. I mean, it is called Bones, so it kind of does revolve around them, but not every bad thing has to happen to them.
Well, Hodgins did get paralyzed, Zack WAS a serial killer of sorts and Sweets was gunned down. But they weren't targets of a serial killer. What I'm trying to say is when the stories happen to them, they're not as overly dramatic as when they happen to Booth and Brennan and they play out better.
So now we can start imagining who is picking up an ax to chop those logs!
