Fox Cheat Sheet: What Will Be Canceled?

at .  Updated at .

The fates of several Fox series are still very much up in the air.

With a handful of shows already renewed, the network's plans will become clearer in the current weeks. With so many underperforming dramas, there's a good chance some of them will make it for another season.

New Girl, which we earlier thought was a sure thing, has been downgraded. The cast seems to think there's a very real possibility the show is toast.

Sleepy Hollow has been lucky in the past, but don't expect it to be this time around. Being the lowest rated drama will send it straight to the TV show afterlife.

Have a look below to find out how all of the Fox shows stack up.

We have separate posts for CBS, The CW, NBC and ABC

1. Empire - Renewed

Empire is down almost 30 percent in Season 3, but it is still the number one show on Fox by a long way. Season 3 is averaging 8.6 million viewers and a 3.2 rating among adults 18-49. The show catapults double digits in delayed viewing, so it will be on the air for another few years.

2. The Simpsons - Renewed

Thanks to multiple NFL overruns, The Simpsons is up almost 15 percent to 4.6 million viewers and a 1.9 rating. This one is not going anywhere.

3. 24: Legacy - Likely Cancellation

This show was poised to be a big hit, but it has struggled in the ratings. Season 1 is averaging 5.7 million viewers and a 1.6 rating. Take out the premieres 6.1 rating and the show is averaging a 1.0 rating. It is not doing as well as Gotham was in the slot. Unless ratings turn around, the franchise could be over.

4. Lethal Weapon - Renewed

Lethal Weapon has been a surprising success for Fox. It averaged 6.5 million viewers and a 1.6 rating. It held up well airing without Empire, so it can hold its own.

5. Star - Renewed

Star was a surprising success story for Fox. It averaged 4.2 million viewers and a 1.3 rating. It performed well in delayed viewing.

6. Family Guy - Certain Renewal

Family Guy is down almost 10 percent this season. It is currently averaging 2.9 million viewers and a 1.3 rating. The show gets a decent bump in delayed viewing and will be around for another few years.

7. Son of Zorn - Could Go Either Way

Fox has a lot of marginally rated comedies. Son of Zorn was inflated due to NFL overruns earlier in the season. It is averaging 3 million viewers and a 1.3 rating. It has a 50/50 chance at returning.

8. The Mick - Renewed

The Mick is averaging 3.3 million viewers and a 1.2 rating. It performs well when other metrics are added in and has already been renewed.

9. Gotham - Certain Renewal

Gotham is down 20 percent in Season 3, but there will be at least one more season for syndication purposes. The show is averaging 3.5 million and a 1.1 rating.

10. Shots Fired - Could Go Either Way

Shots Fired opened with 4.7 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. This was considerably below Lethal Weapon's premiere ratings. We'll need more data.

11. Lucifer - Renewed

Lucifer is down around 25 percent in Season 2, but it gets a decent bump in delayed viewing. Fox has been very vocal about ditching live + same day ratings from their renewal decisions. 3.8 million viewers and a 1.1 rating is not terrible for Fox.

12. Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Could Go Either Way

The show is down 20 percent to 2.5 million viewers and a 1.0 rating. Fox does not produce the show, so that makes chances of renewal a little dimmer.

13. Bob's Burgers - Renewed

Bob's Burgers is already renewed for Season 8. Season 7 is averaging 2.3 million viewers and a 1.0 rating.

14. Last Man on Earth - Could Go Either Way

Ratings have been going down for this Sunday comedy series ever since it premiered. It's currently down 20 percent to 2.2 million viewers and a 0.9 rating. It has stabilized, but Fox could do better.

15. New Girl - Could Go Either Way

New Girl is down 16 percent in Season 6, with current averages at 2.1 million viewers and a 0.9 rating. A cast member recently revealed that the series could be over when its current season concludes.

16. APB - Certain Cancellation

This freshman series has not been performing well and is still dropping. It is currently averaging 3.9 million viewers and a 0.9 rating.

17. Pitch - Likely Cancellation

This rookie series builtg out of the poor lead-in from Rosewood. It averaged 3 million viewers and a 0.8 rating. Critical acclaim could save it, but the chances are that Fox will use the slot for a new show.

18. Bones - Concluded

Bones Season 12 is the last hurrah for the series. To date, it is averaging 3.1 million viewers and a 0.8 rating.

19. Making History - Likely Cancellation

Making History is Fox's lowest rated comedy. It is currently averaging 1.8 million viewers and a 0.8 rating.

20. Rosewood - Canceled

Rosewood has been canceled.

21. The Exorcist - Could Go Either Way

The Exorcist is not pulling in great ratings, but it appears to have leveled off. Season 1 averaged 1.9 million viewers and a 0.7 rating. The show adds on almost 80 percent in live + 7 ratings.

22. Scream Queens - Likely Cancellation

This Fox comedy series struggled in Season 2. It was down as much as 40 percent and averaging 1.4 million viewers and a 0.6 rating. Ryan Murphy has a lot of pull with Fox, but with ratings diving every week, it's hard to imagine the show being on the air next year.

23. Sleepy Hollow - Certain Cancellation

After a surprise renewal last season, the show dropped almost 40 percent and ranks as the network's lowest-rated drama. It won't be back.

FOX Quotes

Very disappointed. Personally, I really don’t want to come back. I’d rather face the killer than backstabbers. At least I know what the motives are behind the killer.

[To Andy] If I make it back here, your ass is grass! And I’ve made sure of that.
