At first, the town of Riverdale looks like any other quaint small town – it's quiet, idyllic, and has that wholesome postcard quality from the outside. It's the dream of white picket fences and suburban houses. But in reality, the town, and its citizens, are not as picturesque as they seem.
Whether at the school, the lake or at the Chock'lit Shoppe, there's a darkness surrounding the town. (Not literally, of course.) The town isn't innocent, and the townsfolk each have their own wants, desires and – better yet – secrets!

2. K. J. Apa as Archie Andrews
Archie Andrews is THE boy-next-door of Riverdale. After a summer of working construction and finding his passion for music, Archie is starting his sophomore year with new drive and a few secrets hiding behind those eyes.
3. Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge
Witty with a fashion sense to match, Veronica is a force to be reckoned with. She moves back to Riverdale from New York City after an unfortunate family scandal.
4. Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper
Betty is the picture of wholesome perfection. But while dealing with an overbearing mother and a longtime crush on her best friend Archie, she looks to a new friend for a new outlook on life.
5. Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones
Never one to be without his cap or laptop by his side, Jughead is dealing with a rift between himself and his former best friend, Archie.
6. Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom
Cheryl is the reigning queen bee of Riverdale High. She's mean, entitled, and she's taking her grief out on her classmates after a mysterious accident over the summer.

Archie's father. Fred has high hopes for his son to take over his business; he also has a past with the other parents of Riverdale.

Betty's mother. Alice is the editor of the local paper and has a strained past with a certain parent in Riverdale. She places high expectations on Betty ever since a mysterious family matter.
11. Marisol Nichols as Hermoine Lodge
Veronica's mother. Hermoine grew up in the town of Riverdale before moving away after getting married. She returns to town with her daughter after a family scandal. But what could this scandal be?
