Bull Season 1 Episode 14 Review: It's Classified

at .  Updated at .

Sometimes, secrets are meant to be kept.

That sentiment echoed through Bull Season 1 Episode 14 and it resulted in Bull being at odds with Benny for much of the hour.

Danny Can't Use Tech - Bull

The case was strong. Tamsin was a likable character who was learning the hard way not to take risks. The character was the polar opposite to Bull and that's what made all of their scenes good.

Facing the facts, Tamsin seemed to think her life was over and that there was no hope for her to get out of her trouble with the law. The case was fairly strong against her.

If you watch Bull online, you already know that Bull can make the impossible happen, so that's what he planned to do. Tamsin omitting all of the classified information was always what she intended to do.

Globespill took a liberty by adding all the information back in. They were the ones to blame for the deaths of the soldiers and wanted to pin it all on Tamsin.

However, it seemed odd Tamsin was not being tried for killing them. That's when Bull and Benny knew there was something not quite right about what they were being led to believe.

All of the stuff with Benny getting to see the classified documents sent the drama up a gear, but it was cumbersome. As if Bull was not going to find a way to get the goods from his colleague.

Benny's outburst in the courtroom getting him arrested came out of the left field. It seemed like Bull was going to be the one to lift the lid on all of it.

Giving the FBI the details to go after Globespill made sense to save Benny, but he was still pissed about Bull not telling him the full story.

There was a possibility that Benny was being sent away for a long time. He's just lucky that the deal was cut to save him.

That said, his troubles are far from over. I was so sure he was going to be served at the conclusion of the hour. I'm eager to find out what was in the envelope.

The TAC going back to the stone ages to find the evidence was great. It pushed the team to their limit as they worked through the mountain of different possibilities.

The hack was a little too convenient and seemed like it was just thrown in to raise the stakes. That's not to say it was not exciting to see everyone worrying about how to get the information they needed.

It was a different way of doing things, but Cable is still my favorite character. She has been underused on the show thus far, and I would like more back story for the character as we move into the back half of the season.

"It's Classified" was a solid, but unspectacular episode of this freshman CBS drama. The case was decent, but fleshing the characters out a bit more away from the office would make me care for them a bit more.

Right now, I find them very tolerable, but I just don't know enough about them.

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • Cable's reaction to Marissa inviting her into her office to try to locate the source of the hack was everything. She never thought she would get the privilege of going in there.
  • Donnie Keshawarz did not get nearly enough screen time. He had like two lines.
  • Chunk's reaction to Bull being in his office, using his wall was hilarious. Why would anyone just use someone else's wall? I'm sure there is more than one wall in the TAC.
  • How long will it take Marissa to learn that Bull has been stealing her string cheese from the fridge?

Over to you, Bull fanatics! What did you think of the episode? Was the case a decent affair?
