The Bachelor Season 21 Episode 8 Review: Meet the Nanny

at .  Updated at .

It's time for Nick to meet the nannies parents, and all of his visits do not go as planned.

The Bachelor Season 21 Episode 8 starts out with everyone still in Bimini, and Nick still questioning all of his decisions.

Hometown Dates - The Bachelor

Corinne, Rachel, Vanessa and Raven are worried about if there is going to be a rose ceremony after Kristina randomly got sent home. And I'm worried about Nick changing the rules of the show every week.

Seriously, I'm so over there not being a rose ceremony at the end of each episode. It's one thing to cancel a cocktail party for a pool party every once in a while, but the rose ceremony is sacred.

Plus, a rose ceremony means we get to see Chris Harrison, and he's one of the top five reasons everyone watches this show.

Corinne, I could not be more excited to meet Raquel.

Nick

The alternative to a rose ceremony in this episode is Nick just handing out roses to everyone (including Raven, who already got the group date rose).

It reminded me of elementary school when you had to bring everyone a valentine in your class, and honestly, it was super lame. I secretly wanted him to not give one of them a rose, yell "and none for Gretchen Weiners, bye!" and leave.

Raven's hometown is up first. And she says it would be the best thing ever to fall in love in Hoxie, Arkansas, but I respectfully disagree.

She takes Nick on an four-wheeler and this date quickly turned into Grease 2, but instead of motorcycles, it's ATVs. And let me tell you, Nick is no cool rider.

A cop pulls up and scares Nick half to death because he doesn't have an ID on him when he asks. You can tell he wanted to pull a Reese Witherspoon and say "do you know my name?" but he resisted. Probably because he realized people in Arkansas might not watch Bachelor in Paradise.

It ends up being Raven's brother, and they're playing a joke on Nick. It might have been funny if the cop wasn't wearing a mic.

The duo ends up frolicking in muddy water, and honestly, I'm worried they might contract a disease. I would also be pissed that my clothes were ruined and might sue ABC for new converse.

Raven: I was worried that he was going to be a little arrogant.
Raven's mom: That's what I thought.

Raven's dad tells her that he is cancer free, and while it's a wonderful moment for her family, it's so awkward to watch on camera. And it's going to be so weird to think back to an important moment like this one and remember that Nick from The Bachelor was there.

It's like when you invite your significant other to be in the family Christmas card and then they dump you after the holidays.

Raven stops herself from telling Nick that she loves him, and is worried that she's the only one who hasn't said it to him yet. She should be worried about wanting to marry someone who is dating three other people, but that isn't a concern.

Rachel's hometown, Dallas, Texas, is next up. Even though we know Nick doesn't end up with her, it's exciting to see her family since we are going to get a full season of her in a few months.

Watching Nick go to church with Rachel is like seeing a teacher outside of school or a dog walk on its hind legs.

I'm very comfortable in a place of worship... amen is amen, you know?

Nick

Rachel's dad isn't there to meet Nick because of "work obligations."  I have a feeling if I was ever on The Bachelor, my dad would also conveniently be on a business trip.

All of Rachel's family members ask Nick if he has ever dated a black woman before. He says he doesn't see color and sees Rachel for who she is, so basically The Bachelor is attempting to end racism after not having a black lead for 33 seasons.

After deep conversations with Rachel's family about being an interracial couple, Nick heads to Miami to go shopping with Corinne. #GetInLoserWereGoingShopping

Every time Corinne walks into a store, it's like Christmas morning for the people who are working at this store.

Nick

They spend a casual $4,000 in one store. I hope Nick realizes that there isn't enough teeth whitening or FitTea in the world that could support Corinne's shopping habits.

I'm also shocked that Corinne found pants for Nick that are even tighter than the ones he usually wears, but I should have never doubted her skills.

There is 100% chance that Corinne is going to get a book deal after this episode called "Corinne's Shopping Tips," and I might buy it. I'm only half-kidding.

Corinne hometown

Corinne tells Nick that she loves him, and Nick tells Corinne that he loves his new sweater.

We finally meet Raquel, and she asks Nick what his "intentions" are with Corinne. I think this is her way of asking if he will take over cutting her cucumbers slices.

Corinne's dad is also concerned about Nick. He's worried about his financial situation, but Corinne says she is fine with being the "breadwinner," which I actually respect.

However, I'm mad that they didn't tell us what Corinne's family business is. I assume they sell olives since her dad was obsessed with Nick trying his "special olives," but after all of the hype we should have gotten some more answers.

Nick's last trip is to Canada to see Vanessa. Here's hoping that Nick gets a cameo on Degrassi while he's in town.

Drake Canada

Instead of meeting a nanny, he meets her students... and you can tell he was more excited to meet the nanny. You can also tell Vanessa's students really love her though.

Nick's next stop is meeting 29572975 of Vanessa's family members. You would think that Nick would be intimated, but then you remember that he has like twenty five siblings and he probably feels at home.

Vanessa's sister makes an extremely valid point when she asks them where they plan to live (Canada vs America), and neither of them have an answer. Nick ended up crying, and I think it's because he realized it might be hard to convince Vanessa to move to LA so he can be on Dancing With The Stars.

Nick also meets Vanessa's father, and asks him for permission to propose. He says no, and Nick is shocked.

Vanessa's dad

I think it's less about the fact that there is three other women left, and more about how ugly his sweater is. Nick should have worn the clothes that Corinne bought him if he wanted to impress Vanessa's family.

The episode ends with a "to be continued..." (SHOCKER!) after Andi Dorfman showed up at Nick's hotel room. In case you didn't know, Andi was the first Bachelorette that Nick fell in love with, but it's unclear why she's there.

Based on what she said in her memoir, she has no interest in being with Nick, but that isn't going to stop ABC from trying to convince us that she is.

Maybe next week we will get a rose ceremony, but don't hold your breathe y'all.
