Remember Psych: The Musical?

Well, I don't, but who cares? Psych: The Movie is coming!!

Who doesn't miss Shawn Spencer and his bestie Burton "Gus" Guster? Anybody who ever watched Psych, that's who!

James Roday and Dule Hill will be back as the dynamic duo in a two-hour holiday movie written by Steve Frank, and brought to us from Universal Cable Productions for USA Network.

The original cast will be joining them, too!

Yes, that means Lassiter (Timothy Omundson), Juliet (Maggie Lawson), Henry (Corbin Bernsen) and Chief Vick (Kirsten Nelson) will all be back.

Things will be hairy, just as we always remember them to be, because similar to real life, the gang will be reuniting three years later (the show went off the air in March 2014) when one of them is a target of a mystery assailant.

You know, I have no doubt Shawn and Gus can get to the bottom of it!

“Psych is a beloved part of our USA family, and what better time to reunite with family than the holidays,” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.

“Steve and James have taken the unique brand of comedy that the series honed over eight seasons and packed it into a two-hour movie that successfully rekindles one of the greatest bro-mances in television history.”

That bromance made up one of the longest airing series in USA Network history, too.

Psych first aired in 2006 and lasted eight seasons.

These days, that's long for any series, but especially for a cable series. Nowadays, USA Network is leaning toward darker, grittier programming.

But isn't it nice to know they remember the brighter, lighter days of yore?

Apparently, there has been talk of reuniting the cast for a movie for quite some time. 

Another USA favorite has also been up for the reunited and it feels so good treatment, and that's Monk. 

Unfortunately, the Monk group can't agree upon a reasonable budget, but the same cannot be said for our Psych friends! Thank goodness.

“Psych has an absolutely phenomenal and constantly refreshing fan base,” said UCP president Jeff Wachtel. “Steve, James, Dulé and the rest of the gang are all returning for a delightful holiday movie that will not – nay, dare not – disappoint!”

Isn't that a great quote? The big guys are already having fun with this one, and that gives me hope that there will be even more of these to look forward to in the future.
