The 100 Round Table: There's a Conclave Brewing

Three beloved characters made the heartbreaking choice to allow themselves to die, and the clans were pushed to the brink of war on The 100 Season 4 Episode 9.
Below, TV Fanatics Yana Grebenyuk and Allison Nichols are joined by Samantha Coley from Tell-Tale TV to discuss everything that went down during “DNR.“

Raven, Harper, and Jasper all opted to embrace death rather than head to the bunker. Whose reasoning were you most moved by?
Allison: Raven's just breaks my heart. She wants to go out on a spacewalk, to float herself. I can't really process Harper's decision, and Jasper's isn't surprising.
Yana: Raven's, because that hit me out of left field and I almost wanted to look away because I was that emotional. Jasper is, of course, a bit obvious and as shocking as Harper's was, I really see Monty convincing her to leave with him very soon.
Samantha: I was definitely more moved by Raven. Something tragic is happening to her. So many tragic things have happened to her over the series. It's both understandable and deeply heartbreaking to see her choosing to go out. But her method is 100% Raven Reyes. Jasper and Harper just make me sad.
Clarke nearly became the commander, but Roan (and Abby) put a quick stop to it. Good thing or bad thing?
Allison: Good thing. Like Roan says, Clarke was making a mockery of grounder beliefs. Also, I would like to see more of Clarke with her people, and her being the commander would mean more time away from Skaikru.
Yana: The best thing. Clarke becoming the commander was on the edge of happening a lot and creating so many new problems. I couldn't figure out how Clarke thought that was a good idea, so Roan calling her out on it was perfect timing.
And he really brought up a good point of how Clarke seems to believe that she is saving them because they can't do it themselves, while also mocking their beliefs.
Samantha: Thank god they stopped her. Clarke is a great leader, but she definitely should never be the grounder commander. Though I'm not too interested in Roan's alternative either. No one asked for this rehash of the Hunger Games.
What did you think of Octavia's brief life as a farm girl with Ilian and how that ended?
Allison: I can't decide if Octavia has given up on healing herself and coming back from the darkness, or if she has just accepted the fact that she's a warrior.
Octavia has always been a fighter, so that part is fine, but if she's accepting that she's a murderer, then I've got a problem. I love Octavia, but I have not been happy with her storyline this season.
Yana: That was so random, especially because of the pacing that then pushed her right back to killing, I couldn't not roll my eyes. I don't see how Octavia thought that giving up murder should turn into hanging out at a random farm with Ilian?
If you are slowly trying to return to who you were without all that ''no emotions'' stuff then why not go see your brother? You are running out of time and somehow that means doing going to do that.
I'm not that surprised, though, because they needed Ilian for next week's conclave so Octavia had to be with him and had to find out that he was a warrior which meant being with him for a while. I am sorry that he left for one second and had to come back to a bunch of bodies that he now needs to get rid of.
Samantha: It felt like an aggressive waste of time. What was the purpose of her reaching that turning point in the cave after the black rain if she was just going to turn right back around in the same direction the next time we saw her?
Like Allison, I love Octavia, but I really wish the writers would stop spinning her back and forth between character arcs.
The clans are at odds, yet again, with a conclave brewing to decide who gets the bunker. Predict how this will pan out.
Allison: I'm excited about a fight. I don't know how this will work. There are too many of our favorites that are fighting, so we could lose some people. Seeing as how The 100 likes a good death, I'm betting that at least one person we care about will die. I'm just hoping the conclave is stopped before a winner is crowned.
Yana: I don't want to predict because I am pretty sure I know how this will go. There will be some deaths during the conclave, but there will also probably be some twists and turns outside of that. We will get a winner in my mind, and I don't see it being Roan or Ilian.
Luna might give us all a run for our money but there is more of a chance that Octavia will stay alive. Maybe they will be in the last few rounds and somehow they figure out a way to keep more than the winner alive?
Samantha: I'd rather not; I really am not looking forward to an hour long fight scene, and I don't want to lose Roan, Luna, or Octavia. Hopefully, The 100 manages to surprise and impress me here. I just want to know more about that bunker and its history.
What was your favorite scene, quote, moment, or character in this episode, and why?
Allison: Bellamy and Jasper's goodbye was just perfect. It made me tear up, and it perfectly summed up their relationship.
Yana: Bellamy hugging his children goodbye and accepting their decisions even if he didn't agree. Ilian and his sheep were great. And any scene with Raven was mind blowing because Lindsey Morgan is beyond talented.
Samantha: Raven and Murphy's goodbye, Jackson and Miller flirting, Murphy telling Emori they'd survive on love, Emori being proven wrong about them coming back for the three of them. Basically, if it happened on Becca's Island, I loved it. Everything else? Not so much.
