What will become of Elijah?

That was a key question after The Originals Season 4 Episode 8 in which the character became embroiled in The Hollow's dangerous plot.

Below, TV Fanatics, Mandy Treccia, Justin Carriero and Paul Dailly discuss Davina's return, Elijah's potential exit and whether Alaric should stick around.

Did you agree with Davina that sacrificing Klaus was best?

Mandy: Yes and no. I understood where she was coming from. She had to think about the greater good and what was best for all the people of New Orleans. But at the same time, Marcel was right. There's always another way. Everyone needs to stop thinking of murder as the first option.

Justin: Yes, I do. The Hollow is a dangerous force that could corrupt and destroy all. While I agree that there is always another way, there is bound to be more deaths caused by The Hollow until a solution might be found. Klaus's death would've saved everyone.

Paul: I do, yes. Davina knew The Hollow would be causing crazy amounts of drama around New Orleans, so she was doing the best she could for the greater good of the people. Yes, I think she was happy at the prospect of taking Klaus out.

What will become of Elijah?

Mandy: I'm worried about him. I thought the Hollow was going to possess him earlier this season. Now it might happen again. I don't think he's going to die. But I could see him ending up the Hollow's prisoner and being forced to hurt someone in his family.

Justin: Elijah isn't going to die because of The Hollow. He'll be tortured and corrupted by this force, but he'll find a way out. I'm more worried about Elijah as a person because he's going down this wrong path.

Paul: Elijah is grating on my nerves. His sudden change of demeanor is worrying, but I hope he finds his way back to being the character everyone knows and loves.

Do you want to see more of Alaric in New Orleans?

Mandy: Yes! And not only because I desperately miss The Vampire Diaries. I think Alaric is a great bridge character between the two worlds. He's a hunter and a historian so he can be useful when it comes to solving supernatural mysteries. Plus, he could brief the Mikaelson family (and the audience) on how people are in Mystic Falls.

Justin: I was a bit underwhelmed by Alaric's visit to The Originals. He seemed more of a flashy name than a big contributor to the story. I would only want him back if they use him in a more substantial way.

Paul: Yes. I found the episode stuffed, and Alaric was a casualty of that. He still had some interesting scenes, but I would like to have seen more.

What did you think of Hope saving the day?

Mandy: I loved it so much. She's such a perfect combination of her parents. She fights so hard for her family, and she's fearless. It's hard to remember she's only seven. It was great watching her take on Davina, and win. I like that they're reminding us how strong her power is.

Justin: Hope is a badass. Don't get me wrong, I love Davina and was so happy to have her on the show. But seeing Hope use her powers and push Davina away in one blast, it was amazing. I can't wait for more Hope battles.

Paul: It was awesome. There were a lot of twists, and I thought she would be the one to help. Her power is strong.

The Hollow created the werewolf curse. React.

Mandy: This is one of my favorite twists/explanations The Originals has ever done. For those of us who have watched The Vampire Diaries, we've heard about the werewolf curse for so long. But there was never an explanation for it; why it happened because of murder. This is such a cool backstory for it.

Justin: I'm on the fence about this. Like Mandy said, we've heard about this curse for so long and only got bits and pieces. However, to get this full backstory now about a spirit that triggered all these werewolves, it felt too clean and simple. And how is that Davina was the one to share this? If it was common knowledge, why didn't people already know about it?!

Paul: I liked it. Even though The Vampire Diaries is over, we're still finding out information about the mythology.
