The Originals Round Table: Will Hayley Stay with Elijah?

at .

Could Hayley move on from Elijah?

That's certainly one of the bigger questions after The Originals Season 4 Episode 10 in which the werewolf got to witness just how scary her boyfriend's past was.

Below, TV Fanatics Mandy Treccia, Amanda Steinmetz and Paul Dailly discuss the events behind the red door, The Hollow's new angle, and whether Elijah will stay dead.

Is Hayley scared of Elijah after the events behind the red door?

Mandy: I don't think Hayley ever grasped how many terrible things Elijah has done before this moment. She's seen him kill to protect his family, but never in such a sadistic way. Even though he's warned her that he's a monster, it took seeing it for herself for it to sink in. I'm not sure she'll be able to look at him the same way again.

Amanda: I agree with Mandy. It's one thing to hear about someone's evil deeds. It's entirely different to see it in person. That's why I always thought Cami would never have looked at Klaus with so much forgiveness had she actually witnessed him murdering people for centuries. While I don't think Hayley is about to end her relationship with Elijah in the next episode, I do think she's going to have a hard time getting those images out of her head.

Paul: It's a full house on this one. Hayley did not think Elijah's past was as bad she first thought, and that's part of the reason why she was so shocked. She's probably thinking about what could have happened to Hope inside the pendant, too. I don't see it making her leave him, but she'll probably want the violence toned down.

Was The Hollow smart to link her life to Davina's?

Mandy: It's a good way to convince Kol to be on her side. But the rest of the Mikaelson family already proved they don't value Davina's life more than their family. It won't stop them from killing the Hollow to bring Elijah back.

Amanda: It was smart on The Hollow's part to bring Davina back simply to separate Kol from the rest of his family. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if Davina urges Kol to kill The Hollow, even though that would mean she would be gone as well. Kol will try to find some sort of loophole to unlink them.

Paul: For sure. Kol has never been on the best of terms with his siblings, so this was a decent way on The Hollow's part to throw in some more angst for the family.

Throwback Thursday? - The Originals Season 4 Episode 10

Did Freya go too far by sending Hope into the pendant?

Mandy: Logically, yes. Hope is seven and Freya saw for herself that Elijah's mind is an ugly place. She could have been scarred for life if she saw something similar to what her mother did in there. But at the same time, she needed to rescue Hayley. It was a terrible choice, and a risky one, but Hope needs her mother.

Amanda: I mean, yeah. Freya sending a child into that dangerous situation was stupid. However, she didn't have much of choice. Both Hayley and Elijah would have been trapped. But if I were Hayley, I would probably have a long talk with Freya about child safety.

Paul: Yes. Freya only cares about her siblings and throwing Hope in made it clear she would be willing to sacrifice her niece to keep her siblings alive. She needs to get off the power trip and think things through before lashing out.

Back Together? - The Originals Season 4 Episode 11

How do you see the Kol/Davina plot concluding?

Mandy: I think they'll both end up dead. Again. The Hollow will be killed because she's the villain and they always kill them at the end of the season. So Davina will die. I also believe Kol will end up dying, maybe even by his own choice, if he attempts to sacrifice himself to protect Davina.

Amanda: I could totally see Mandy's ending. I don't think Kol could handle watching Davina die again. However, I was thinking it would be an interesting twist to see Elijah save her life as a way to make up for his part in her previous death.

Paul: I agree with Mandy and Amanda. Both of them will be dead before the season is over, but hopefully, they will be together in the afterlife.

Do you think there's a chance Elijah will not make it back into the land of the living?

Mandy: There's always a small chance. Like one percent, if that. I don't think they would kill off Elijah permanently. Not only because that would mean the villain would win, but other than Klaus, he's the only Mikaelson willing to stick around. We can't have The Originals with only Klaus.

Amanda: Yeah, I don't think Elijah staying dead would make any sense. Fans would be mad, and I think Klaus without Elijah just doesn't work. It's kind of like Stefan and Damon on The Vampire Diaries. Klaus and Elijah are important to one another's arcs. If one of them is going to end up dead, it needs to happen when the series ends.

Paul: I'm on the fence. Fake deaths piss me off, but the show would be completely different with Elijah. However, I don't know whether Daniel Gillies wants to be on the show full-time any more. I could see him staying inside the pendant and being used sparingly, similar to Clare Holt's contract.

What are your predictions for the final three episodes of the season?

Mandy: I think Marcel will end up in a position to choose between Rebekah and Sofya. He'll pick Rebekah, but she'll end up leaving again. Klaus and Hayley will decide to send Hope to Caroline's school for her own protection. And Elijah will return from the dead, but he'll keep his distance from Hayley after what happened behind the red door.

Amanda: I think Elijah and Hayley will either be on shaky ground or separated by the final scene.I'm hoping Marcel and the Mikaelsons can finally put aside their issues and be on the same team. I like the idea of Hope going to Alaric and Caroline's school as Mandy suggested.

Paul: I think Marcel will squash his beef with the Mikaelsons and there will be a period of tranquility inside the Quarter. That won't last long, and a new villain will rise.

The Originals Season 4 Episode 10 Quotes

I've never told you, but over countless years you've meant so much to me. You've been a redeemer, a confidante, a rival and a friend. And at times, yes, you've been a royal pain in the arse. Now, look at you. I am so sorry, my brother. This will not be your end.

Klaus

Hayley: Please tell me that you can do this?
Freya: He's my brother. I'm not going to stop until he's safe.
