NCIS Lands Maria Bello as Series Regular!!

at .

Maria Bello is a forceful and talented actress.

Her new role finds her on NCIS Season 15 as a series regular, and the character she's playing will be giving Mark Harmon's Gibbs some much-needed pushback.

There is no better actress I can imagine who is not only up for the challenge but worthy of the task.

M Bello vert

Bello was most recently seen opposite Billy Bob Thornton on Amazon's Goliath.

If it was possible to define a series role in which Bello should not have been involved, I'd go with Goliath simply because she was so horribly underutilized.

If you're lucky enough to score Bello, use her talents wisely.

The good news is from the character details for her part on NCIS, she's going to be thrust right into the middle of things.

Maria Bello

Bello will be playing an NCIS agent who was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the army and served two tours in Afghanistan.

After joining NCIS, she built her reputation as the agency’s premier forensic psychologist.

Unlike the other agents, she can second guess and challenge Gibbs, so there will be friction but also mutual respect.

She is a positive force, mischievous and at times acerbic. Her character will be introduced in the season’s fourth episode.

It sounds like a fabulous role, and one that will be in first position should the situation arise that Goliath wants her character back on that series, as well.

More importantly, she sounds like a woman who will be getting very close to Gibbs.

Gibbs could use a little second guessing, and the challenging combined with her mischievous nature should make their relationship very interesting.

Gibbs' Flip Phone - NCIS

I don't dare consider the possibility of a romantic venture, but when you put two such forces of nature together, you never know what might be spun out of spending so much time together.

“We have always been big fans of Maria Bello’s work and are excited to be introducing her as an agent who not only has a distinct talent, but also a unique relationship with Gibbs,” said NCIS executive producers/co-showrunner George Schenck and Frank Cardea.

See? I'm not the only one who sees the unique nature of what's about to hit NCIS. After all, they hired her!

NCIS returns to CBS on September 26th.

In the meantime, you have plenty of time to let your imaginations run wild!!

McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.

McGee: You and Zoe broke up?
Tony: You heard.
McGee: Why didn't you tell me?
Tony: Well the break-up bug's going around. Didn't want you to catch it.
