Production on Riverdale Season 2 is well underway, and new details are emerging about the coming season.
Deadline has unveiled an exciting new addition to the cast, and we're sure it means there's going to be a lot of trouble for some of the key characters.
Brit Morgan will board the series in a recurring role as Penny Peabody. Her nickname is "The Snake Charmer."
Yes, she's going to be in cahoots with the Southside Serpents and serves as the person who gets things done for them.
However, her role is mostly limited to the law because she's an attorney, so it sounds like she's on speed dial if one of them gets in trouble with the law.
Jughead will enlist Penny to help his father get out of the slammer. Jughead need not worry about his lack of funds to pay the attorney because she prefers people paying her back with favors.
Sounds ominous, right?
Morgan's other recent TV credits include Supergirl and E!'s frothy drama, The Arrangement.
Riverdale debuted earlier this year on The CW, and its mix of drama, angst, and witty one-liners have cemented it as one of the best teen dramas around.
The series is moving to Wednesday nights in the fall, and it will be paired up with the rejigged version of Dynasty. Yes, it's a match made in soapy heaven.
The show may not be doing hitting the ratings heights of the hits that came before it, but it's performing well enough for The CW to extend Season 2 to 22 episodes.
The drama does have a lucrative streaming deal that likely helps fund a good chunk of the production costs, so that could explain the extension.
Either way, more Riverdale means more time with the enthralling characters and, well, the freaky town they call home.
