13 Reasons Why: Kelli O'Hara, Ben Lawson Among Season 2 Additions

at .  Updated at .

Netflix's breakout hit, 13 Reasons Why is returning for Season 2 in 2018, and there will be some new characters along the way.

Netflix has unveiled details of who the characters will be playing and short sentences of what we can expect from the characters.

Kelli O'Hara

All of the additions are brand new characters who were not part of the original novel, so it's clear the new batch of episodes will be leaving the novel in the rear-view mirror.

Tony-winning Kelli O'Hara leads the pack and will play "advocate for victims of bullying."

Considering the way 13 Reasons Why Season 1 concluded, the school is likely going to great measures to ensure bullying will not lead to any other deaths.

O'Hara is no stranger to the small screen, with roles in Blue Bloods, Masters of Sex and The Good Fight.

Bryce Cass

Bryce Cass is tapped to appear as Cyrus, who Netflix describes as "an edgy, cynical mischief maker who serves as an unexpected champion of the downtrodden."

Maybe this means he'll be someone who will stand up to someone like Bryce, and we're quite alright with that. Bryce absolutely needs to get his comeuppance and face the law for his crimes.

Bryce most recently appeared on NBC's The Night Shift, but has appeared in movies such as Battle Los Angeles and Line of Duty.

Chelsea Alden has been added as Cyrus's sister, Mackenzie. She is described as "an artsy, witty girl who isn’t afraid to speak her mind."

Chelsea Alden

Alden has appeared on American Horror Story, Veep and American Crime Story.

Allison Miller will play Sonya, a "smart and ambitious young litigator." Miller's TV credits include Incorporated, Selfie and Bad Teacher.

Samantha Logan will play Nina, a "well-respected track star" at Liberty High School.

Logan has appeared on Melissa & Joey, The Fosters and Teen Wolf over the last few years.

Anne Winters is the sixth new addition, playing the character of Chloe. She is described as the new head cheerleader.

Her previous TV credits include Wicket City, Tyrant and The Fosters.

Finally, Ben Lawson has been added as Rick, a ""beloved baseball coach" at Liberty High School.

His most recent TV role was in CBS' Doubt, which was canceled after just two episodes.

Production on 13 Reasons Why Season 2 has been underway for a few weeks now, and the show will return to Netflix next year.
