Joey went off the prison, Roman flirted with Kate, Lucas and Brady continued to drown their sorrows, and Salem saw not one, but two engagements this week on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Fluffysmom from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate reuniting Kate and Roman, which couple will make it down the aisle, and the future of Hattie and Bonnie without Anjelica. 

Would you like to see Kate and Roman get back together?

Jack: Yes, yes, yes! Roman brings out a softness in Kate that no one else does, and I thought the scenes between them were among the most romantic of the week. Plus, at this point Kate/Andre seems to be a redux of Stefano blackmailing Kate into marrying him, so Roman is a much better choice for her.

Fluffysmom: I was caught completely off guard when Roman remembered their past and kissed Kate. I'm curious to see where this goes.

Christine: Yes! I agree that Kate is at her most human when she’s with Roman. I was always disappointed that this romance was cut short. I’d love to see it rekindled and given a real chance. 

Was Kate right to threaten to fire Lucas from Countess Wilhelmina?

Jack: Yes. That's about the only thing she did right. Arguing with a drunk person is never a good idea and saying cruel things about Adrienne didn't help Lucas one bit. Refusing to enable his alcoholism and enforcing consequences for his behavior will help him hit bottom sooner (hopefully).

Fluffysmom: Kate didn't need to threaten Lucas when he just had his heart broken. If he shows up drunk at work or can't do his job then she has every right to threaten to fire him. As Lucas pointed out, she only shows him tough love.

Christine: I thought she was a little quick to go there, but if the drinking continues, then losing his job is certainly an appropriate consequence. That said, it would be nice to see Kate be a little less harsh with her son, especially right after getting his heart crushed. 

Do you think Abigail and Chad and/or Sonny and Paul will make it down the aisle?

Jack: Abigail and Chad -- yes. It seems pretty clear that the new writing team wants to turn around the mess that was made of their relationship under the old writers ASAP. 

Paul and Sonny -- no. All this talk of how Will would approve makes me think Will will turn up at the wedding and not approve in the slightest.

Fluffysmom: I hope Chad and Abby get married again. They should be a family with Thomas. I'm happy for Sonny and Paul but I'm not sure the wedding will happen. I think there will be an interruption to the wedding or soon after.

Christine: I agree with all of the above. Chad and Abigail, and Thomas, have earned some happiness and romance, and I think they’re going to get it. 

I’ve always liked Sonny and Paul and would love to see them as a happy couple, but I sincerely doubt that’s going to happen any time soon. 

Should Nicole go to prison for killing Deimos?

Jack: I think this is ridiculous. Nicole, just like the other three suspects who had only fuzzy memories yet were convinced they were guilty, was drugged against her will and unable to think clearly at the time she killed Deimos. 

Even if the DA could prosecute this case, it's not murder. Maybe manslaughter, and even that's a stretch considering the circumstances. 

So no, she shouldn't go to prison, though if she and Brady cover it up they should both face consequences for obstructing justice. I'm tired of people getting away with hiding major evidence from the police.

Fluffysmom: No, she shouldn't go to prison considering she was drugged by Deimos. He was taunting her and threatening her daughter. She has been punished enough by being separated from Holly. 

Christine: No, and everyone being charged with murder even though they were drugged against their will has made this story ridiculous. 

At least Nicole’s reason for killing Deimos makes sense. And after he threatened to kidnap her little girl and steal her away forever, I wouldn’t blame Nicole for killing him even if she weren’t drugged. 

With Anjelica dead, what will Hattie and Bonnie do next?

Jack: I have no idea, but there’s no one to rein them in now and they were both getting frustrated with her forcing them to keep up the bad behavior and pretense. I would love to see Bonnie and Adrienne fight over Lucas so I hope that happens.

Fluffysmom: I think Bonnie and Hattie are going to go off the rails without Anjelica. They don't have to follow her agenda anymore. Hattie seems to have given up on Roman. 

Christine: First, I wonder if Anjelica is really dead. Assuming she is, I wonder if Hattie and Bonnie can figure out a way to pin everything on her. I doubt it, as neither of them is the sharpest tool in the shed, but watching them try could be fun. 

What, if anything, disappointed you this week in Salem?

Jack: JJ should have been at Joey's goodbye party. Not only is he his cousin, but his past includes nearly doing prison time and he carries (or did before he was back-burnered for no reason) extreme guilt over the things he'd done, so this would have been a great opportunity for bonding and honest drama. 

I'm also not thrilled with Nicole being the murderer. It's too similar to the Hope/Stefano debacle. Dishonorable mentions for everyone in town pointing out that Will would want Sonny to move on, Eric pining for Nicole instead, and Lucas and Brady continuing to turn to alcohol.

Fluffysmom: Eric pining away over Nicole. I'm so done with that. He needs to move on and quit looking back.

Christine: Steve telling Adrienne about Joey could have been a really poignant scene…if it had actually been Adrienne and not Bonnie! 

Also, I’m so tired of people saying that Ava made Joey kill her. She was despicable, but she didn’t force him to murder he. He got drunk and did something impulsive and violent. I’m just glad he’s finally going to pay for it. 

And Julie telling Eli she wanted her house back made me want to slap her. 

What was your favorite quote, scene, or storyline from this week on Days of Our Lives.

Jack: John and Marlena cracked me up. I especially liked this Days of Our Lives quote:

John: [on other side of vent]: The one and only.
Marlena: Ohh! What happened?
John: Don't ask, Doc.
Marlena: Well, from the sound of your voice, I'd say you're not in the vent, waiting for the room to clear so you can get me out of here.

I also liked Hattie and Bonnie turning on Anjelica (minus her death), and I loved the brief scene between Eric and Jen and the Roman/Kate kiss.

Fluffysmom: Lucas was heartbreaking and terrific this week especially in his scenes with Kate and Eric.

Christine: Kate and Roman! I’m really rooting for these two. Also watching Abigail and Chad reunite was more fun than I expected. It’s nice to see a happy couple for a change of pace.
