Rebecca Mader confirmed earlier this year that she would be departing Once Upon a Time, so we're surprised to be writing that she's signed up to return for Once Upon a Time Season 7.

According to TV Line, the former series regular will be back for multiple episodes of the show's rebooted seventh season. There's no word as of yet about who she will be playing.

As you are probably aware, the few actors returning to the ABC drama will be playing different characters in the wake of a brand new curse that will toy with their lives once more.

Could Mader return as herself and be a beacon of hope for Henry who finds himself in a lot of trouble when someone claiming to be his daughter shows up on his doorstep with the news that he needs to save everyone?

We have no idea.

“I am beyond thrilled to be returning to make magic with my beloved Once Upon a Time family,” Mader revealed to TVLine. “I’m excited for this next chapter.”

Mader first appeared on Once Upon a Time Season 3 as Zelena aka the Wicked Witch. She was initially a villain but grew a conscience sometime after it emerged that Regina Mills was her sister.

Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, and Colin O’Donoghue are the only actors from the series who are returning in series regular roles.

It was previously announced that Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Jared Gilmore and Emilie de Ravin and Mader were departing the show ahead of Once Upon a Time Season 7.

However, it has since been revealed that Morrison, Gilmore and de Ravin would be returning for one episode each to close of their storylines.

Andrew J. West will assume the role of Henry as a series regular during Season 7, while Alison Fernandez has been added to the cast as his daughter Lucy.

Dania Ramirez will play Henry's wife, Cinderella, while Gabrielle Anwar has been added as the villainous Lady Tremaine.
