NBC Cheat Sheet: What Will Be Renewed?

at .  Updated at .

We are now well into 2018, and some shows are emerging as likely candidates to be canceled.

The Brave, Taken and Great News have all been pulling in poor ratings for NBC, and will likely meet the TV Grim Reaper before the season is over.

The Blacklist is not performing as well as it once did, but it's steady this season. NBC would be wise to keep it around for another year in the Wednesday 8/7c slot.

Have a look at the predictions for your favorite NBC shows below.

1. This Is Us - Renewed

This Is Us has remained a hit in Season 2. It is averaging 11.4 million viewers and a 3.2 rating. The series adds almost 100 percent to its demo tally with 7 days of DVR factored in. NBC was wise to give it a two-season renewal last fall.

2. Will & Grace - Renewed

Bringing Will & Grace back was a no-brainer for NBC. It is currently averaging 6.2 million viewers and a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49. It leaps 80 percent with DVR factored in. It's no surprise that it's already renewed!

3. Chicago Med - Certain Renewal

Chicago Med returned after an extended hiatus and is so far tracking higher than it was in Season 2. It is currently averaging 7 million viewers and a 1.3 rating.

4. Law & Order: SVU - Likely Renewal

This veteran series is aging, but it is still averaging 6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49. It still gets a boost with DVR ratings factored in. The only thing that will come between a renewal is rising costs. NBC will make it work as long as the cast is on board.

5. The Good Place - Renewed

The Good Place is down slightly to 3.9 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. It gets a decent bump in DVR ratings, and NBC has already handed out a third season renewal.

6. Chicago Fire - Certain Renewal

Chicago Fire has taken a hit this season. It is averaging 6.1 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. Those figures represent an erosion of around 20 percent. The show still secures gains of over 80 percent with 7 days of DVR factored in. It's safe.

7. Chicago PD - Certain Renewal

Chicago PD is also down in the ratings. 6.4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating is what the show is averaging. It still gets a substantial boost on the DVR.

8. Superstore - Certain Renewal

The show is averaging 4.1 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. It gets a modest boost with DVR, but is owned by NBC. It's safe.

9. Law & Order: True Crime - Could Go Either Way

This new anthology series failed to garner much traction. It averaged 4.5 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. It also lost a lot of the audience from This Is Us. The one thing that might save it is that a brand new storyline could make it a good schedule filler for the 2018-2019 schedule.

10. The Brave - Likely Cancellation

The Brave has struggled on Monday nights. Season 1 averaged 4.6 million viewers and a 0.9 rating. It got a decent 70 percent boost with DVR factored in and is owned by NBC. Networks have been known to save some of their lower rated series if they are owned.

11. Great News - Likely Cancellation

Great News started the season in decent shape, but it has fallen dramatically over the course of the season. It is averaging 3 million viewers and a 0.7 rating, but the show is losing almost half of its lead-in and that's not a good thing.

12. The Blacklist - Likely Renewal

This once-hot series is averaging 5.9 million viewers and a 1.0 rating. It still rises considerably with DVR factored in, but NBC does not own the show. That said, the show is steady as a rock in the Wednesday lead-off slot. NBC has bigger fish to fry.

13. Blindspot - Likely Renewal

NBC shipped Blindspot off to Friday nights and the results have been decent. It is averaging 3.5 million viewers and a 0.7 rating. It gets a 90 percent boost with DVR factored in. It will be back. The show is not owned by NBC, but Warner Bros. TV Group will likely lower the license fee for the series to get it to syndication. It's rare for a show with three full seasons to get canceled.

14. Taken - Certain Cancellation

Taken Season 2 is down 50 percent vs. Season 1. 2.9 million viewers and a 0.5 rating is not good. The show will disappear after the current batch of episodes.
