Shantel VanSanten is gearing up to join a world that relies on the highest of technology to survive.
VanSanten is playing Toby's ex-fiance, Amy Berkstead, who is now in a relationship with Quincy Berkstead. Toby has a long-standing feud with the character, so the news has got to sting a little.
The report states that Amy broke off her engagement to Toby when she learned the true extent of his gambling addiction and his immaturity. Toby may not be over her because she still has an effect on him.
With Toby recently married, it's hard to imagine there not being some awkward scenes between Toby and Happy when his new wife learns that the one that got away is poking around.
VanSanten will debut on Scorpion Season 4 Episode 13 which is scheduled to air on CBS in January.
Her most recent TV gig is Shooter, in which she plays Julie Swagger. The show concluded production on Shooter Season 2 early because series star Ryan Philippe was involved in an accident that prevented him from returning to set quickly.
The second season dipped almost 30 percent in the ratings for Season 2. It ultimately averaged 1.2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49.
The show is in line with most of the other USA Network dramas, so a renewal remains a possibility.
People probably best remember VanSanten for her role as Patty on The Flash.
She was the only successful relationship Barry had outside Iris, and with her intrepid detective skills, she was one of the only people ever to figure out his secret identity on her own.
She also left Central City willingly, both sending waves of cheers through the fandom and crushing the hearts of those who hoped the relationship would create a permanent rift in the WestAllen relationship.
She was divisive, to be sure!
Hopefully, she'll be just as interesting on Scorpion.
