Transparent: Jeffrey Tambor Has 'No Plans to Quit'

Jeffrey Tambor is not waving goodbye to his role on Transparent quite yet.

The Emmy Award-winning actor was widely expected to be exiting the Amazon original after a string of sexual harassment claims swirled against him.

On November 19, he released a statement in which he denied the allegations against him.

“Playing Maura Pfefferman on Transparent has been one of the greatest privileges and creative experiences of my life,” Tambor said.

He added: “What has become clear over the past weeks, however, is that this is no longer the job I signed up for four years ago."

"I’ve already made clear my deep regret if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue."

"Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don’t see how I can return to Transparent.”

The last part certainly seemed to confirm he was not returning, but a new report from the New York Times has said that the star has "no plans to quit."

The report also states that “no final decision for next year has been made, either by Jeffrey or by Amazon” about the show's future.

Trace Lysette, who is Tambor's co-star on the series came forward on November 16 and alleged that Jeffrey made a comment about a sexual attack and even went as far as pressing his groin against her.

Not long before that, Tambor's former assistant, Van Barnes accused him of making less than savory comments and groping her.

More recently, make-up artist, Tamara Delbridge alleged that Tambor forcibly kissed her during the production of the movie, Never Again.

Tambor refuted these claims.
