Southside High shut down for good, Polly abandoned her family to live with her twins at a farm, and Betty reunited with her long lost brother on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 10.
Below, TV Fanatics Paul Dailly, Jack Ori and Justin Carreiro debate Jughead rebelling against Principal Weatherbee, Archie's new partnership with the FBI, and the introduction of Chic Cooper.
1. Tensions rose between the Riverdale High students and the former Southside High students when the latter joined the school. Will they find peace or could it only get worse from here?
Paul: They'll find peace. It was guns blazing initially, but this storyline does not have enough legs to run for half of a season.
Jack: It'll get worse from here. I'm sure Reggie and the other Northsiders who are against them are going to up their game, and Weatherbee is already making life difficult for the Serpents. Sooner or later the others will realize Jughead was right and their attempts to fit in were really just giving Weatherbee far too much power.
Plus, now that the Serpents have their club, they're going to start getting into trouble.
Justin: I agree with Jack that it will get worse. Reggie and his friends are only getting started in the torment; they're going to push it too far and things will escalate. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if they find some peace after something terrible happens.
2. Penelope Blossom is now an escort to help pay the bills. React!
Paul: It was a hilarious twist. It was funnier that she actually seemed to enjoy it, and did not seem to want to quit.
Jack: I'm not surprised that she would do that or that she refused to quit at the end. The Blossoms will do anything for money and I wouldn't be too shocked if there was sexual abuse in Penelope's past as well.
Justin: Penelope is a survivor and will do whatever it takes to have money. I am surprised that she did get a job, especially when she has looked down on others beneath her.
3. Jughead refused to remove his Serpent jacket (at first) after Principal Weatherbee set new school rules. Would you have done the same?
Paul: I definitely would not have taken the jacket off. Weatherbee should have investigated the painted snake before throwing all the blame on the Serpents. Jughead wanted to get justice, and I cannot fault him for that.
Jack: I was proud of Jughead for standing up to Weatherbee. I thought it was really unrealistic that the other Serpents took the attitude that whatever they had to do to stay in school they would do.
None of them really cared about education before and Sweetpea in particular should have wanted the Serpents to double their efforts to disrupt things in retaliation for Weatherbee's stupid rule.
Justin: If I were Jughead, I would have taken the jacket off. Many schools have rules like this and it was a simple concession that he could have done. The issues in school for the Serpents escalated because he wouldn't do it.
4. Archie is now working with Agent Adams from the FBI. Should he (and us as viewers) trust this agent?
Paul: There is no such thing as trust in Riverdale, so I'm going with no. Archie is stupid to even get involved with the FBI. How does he know Hiram hasn't paid someone to pose as an FBI agent to make sure Archie is not blabbing about everything?
Jack: I don't think the agent's agreements to provide immunity for Fred or Veronica are at all genuine, but that's my main concern about him. I'm more worried about whether we can trust Archie not to screw this up and get himself in a lot of trouble.
He was extremely obvious in the way he carried out his mission and it's only a matter of time before someone figures out he's undercover.
Justin: Agent Adams has shady written all over him. I do not trust this agent nor should Archie or any of the viewers. We don't know if he's actually with the FBI or if what he's offering will actually come to fruition.
5. Archie and Veronica are keeping secrets from each other again: Archie is working with the agent while Veronica is helping her parents with their deals/she told them about Nick. Who do you think will come clean with the truth first?
Paul: Veronica's allegiance to her parents trumps her relationship with Archie, so I bet Archie will come clean to her first.
Jack: I'm with Paul on this. Archie's either going to need to tell her to keep her out of trouble or feel guilty about spying on her parents and tell her for that reason.
Justin: I'm actually going to disagree with Paul and Jack here. I think Veronica will come clean to Archie first and seek his help about a situation. While she loves her parents, she is trying to make things work with Archie.
6. "Chic" Cooper made his grand debut on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 10. Share your first thoughts on this new character.
Paul: Meh. I can't be the only one who got Psycho Derek vibes from One Tree Hill from him. Hart Denton is no Matt Barr. Let's hope the storyline takes an exciting turn because it was more of a cliche than entertaining.
Jack: That last scene in Betty's room was creepy. I was getting a child molester vibe from him, and I can't help wondering if Polly's continued disappearance has something to do with knowing Chic was nearby. After all, she was trapped at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy for a while and might have learned more about her brother from them.
Justin: Chic Cooper is definitely creepy. He's hiding something or there's more to his personality that we haven't seen yet. Though, his introduction was a bit of a letdown. After all the teasing and buildup, his first interactions with his family were too mellow and dull.
