Jennifer Garner is heading back to the world of TV!
The popular actress will appear in Camping, which will air on HBO. She will play Kathryn Siddell-Bauers, described as “a controlling L.A. mom who is far less cheerful than her Lululemons imply.”
It focuses on a camping trip to celebrate Kathryn's husband's 45th birthday.
“But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn’s meek sister, holier than thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited tagalong in one place,” the official logline reads, “it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten. Plus, bears.”
The series is an adaptation based on the UK series of the same name, which aired on Sky Atlantic in 2016. The original series creator, Julia Davis, will serve as an executive producer.
The project will be written and executive-produced Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, who both worked together on Girls.
“We love Jennifer’s restraint and comedic timing, and we can’t wait for the warmth and intelligence she’ll bring to our central character, Kathryn. It’s truly a dream to have her first on our call sheet. Now we just have to write her some stunts,” the duo said in a statement.
Garner is probably best known for her starring role on ABC's Alias, which aired from 2001 to 2006. She portrayed the character of Sydney Bristow on the show.
While Garner has appeared in several TV series since the show came to a close, this will be her first stint in a live action series in 12 years.
Despite steering clear of live action TV series, Jennifer has appeared in a string of hit movies including Dallas Buyers Club, Juno and Valentine's Day.
