Fifty-One was invaded on Chicago Fire Season 6 Episode 18...or maybe infested would be a better word. With the FBI in control of the house, the crew struggled to find their place.

Luckily, Casey and Severide always have a plan and Boden will always back them up. That's a recipe for success.

Having the team spend all their time at 51 was definitely a change of pace, and not a bad one. I think I would have preferred a true bottle episode to this though.

Maybe something that felt a little less like a backdoor pilot.

Not that I think Chicago Fed is coming anytime soon, but the focus on Scoville was a little heavy.

I was so frustrated by everyone's acquiescence to his alpha male posturing. Shouldn't someone have pointed out that shutting 51 down would actually draw more attention?

I'm not in as big a city as Chicago, and the fire house by my office sends out trucks multiple times a day. If I didn't hear sirens at least twice, I'd probably think something was up.

And why bother keeping the entire staff there if you're not going to let them do their actual jobs? Seems like it would get a little crowded.

Herrmann [about Scofield]: Yeah, well, they should have pulled him off the case. I mean, guy's too close. He could snap, get somebody hurt.
Mouch: I don't know about that. Remember that kid got Otis shot, and Cruz was gunning for him? He needed help, Cruz set all that aside, saved the kid's life. It's called being a professional.

It turned out to be a good thing for Taye that guys stuck around though.

I really hope that we see more of that kid. I liked him before his confession to Cruz about visiting his dad in prison; I was pretty much an emotional mess after that.

Taye might be the best reason so far for my preferred next spinoff, Chicago Public.

I never watched Justice, so I can't say that it was horrible, but did we really need another legal show? Teachers and administrators have to tackle all kinds of problems, and there's plenty of opportunity for crossover with the other properties.

There's even an in through Donna.

For the time being, I'll have to make do with Cruz's tutoring service. I just love his relationship with that kid.

And I'm not the only one. I'm still not sure that Sylvie and Joe should get back together but I can understand why she's contemplating it.

Brett needs to proceed with extreme caution here. Not only does she need to consider the inequity of Joe's feelings for her, but things can get messy when you date a roommate.

Real messy.

Thank god Otis' injury won't prevent him from giving solid advice. We've almost always seen him lending an ear to Cruz, but I think it'd be great to have Sylvie turn to him for help with this situation.

Especially because I'm not entirely sure what he'd tell her. Advising her to not pursue things because he's afraid she'll crush Cruz seems just as likely as him becoming their most ardent shipper.

It's really a tossup.

It's too bad Stella doesn't have another roommate to turn to. She could really use some outside perspective on her relationship with Kelly.

My jaw dropped when Jennifer made that comment to her. Yes, Kelly has been a major man-whore in the past. Yes, he has basically zero verbal communication skills.

But what a thing to say to his new girlfriend!

I also was shook by her recommendation for Stella to not give up. I would agree that if a relationship is important to you, you have to be willing to fight for it, but that doesn't mean you just accept your partner being a crappy person.

You don't just accept him cheating on you because he's a great guy in other ways.

It was such inappropriate and bad advice...I don't know where to start, let alone end.

That kind of fatalism isn't healthy in a relationship, and it's disturbing that his mother would offer it. Maybe she was just lashing out because she was pissed about his interference.

Maybe she's just super weird and has no sense of boundaries -- she did show up at his place of work unannounced and intending to stay with him for three to four weeks after all.

That's a far cry from normal too.

Treat Williams has been around as Benny for years now, but this has to have been the best performance we've seen from him.

The relationship between the Severide men has always been complicated, but this was the first time I've felt like maybe Benny wasn't a complete asshole.

In fact, I hope that we get to see the followup to their fight in Kelly's quarters. Will the two ever reach an understanding? They're both so bullheaded, it's hard to say.

Benny: You think you're so damn smart. Smarter than everybody else. Me, your mom, Carl Grissom -- who, by the way, did nothing but try to help you.
Kelly: This has nothing to do with Grizz.
Benny: The hell it doesn't! It's about respect!

I doubt that wish will fulfilled quickly though. At the very least, I don't expect Benny to show up on Chicago Fire Season 6 Episode 19 ("Where I Want To Be").

Nope, we'll be back to focusing on Cordova for that one. Truck 81 puts out a fire at a drug dealer's residence, but a huge amount of money goes missing from the scene.

Cordova is the obvious suspect...but is he too obvious? We haven't really seen anything to indicate that he'd be that dirty, but we also don't know him as well as the other team members.

I would float the possibility of it being an outside job, but there's no way to know until airtime. It just seems that we've been down this road before, and the new guy always turns out to be okay in the end.

Even if they're not a good fit for 51.
