DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 18 Review: The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly

That was ridiculously easy, and I'm surprised Amaya needed to partake of hallucinogens to figure it out.
As it turns out, DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 18 revealed ridding the world of Mallus with the totems was as easy as the lot of them gathering in a circle and grasping hands.
While it probably would have helped if they had clear thoughts, none of them managed to achieve it, which is why Beebo was the hero chosen by the lot of them to technically do the job their own powers and skills couldn't do for them.
Considering the story of the Legends is that a bunch of mismatched nobodies has come together to save the universe from a bunch of problems nobody can no about and of which nobody wants to take too much responsibility, they should have gone the group route initially.
Sara: Us being the key word. You and Amaya were born to wield the totems and the rest of us are just...
Mick: Losers. That's why Rip picked us. Snart, the professor, those stupid hawk flying chicken people. We're all expendable.
Everything about the Legends should be done in a group, but somehow they always manage to pair off into duos or go off on individual adventures. It allows for more stories per episode, but it can be downright exasperating for groups to continually have to learn similar lessons across the television landscape.

At the very least, Mick was, as usual, on fire with his wit.
The whole bit about making a baby as they first tried using the totems to wipe out "phallus" was funny as it was exactly what they were doing.
Thankfully, they were doing something wrong and didn't embody the gooey, malformed human in front of them as they did with Beebo later. That would have been a damned shame. Imagine the headlines!
Sara was keen on drinking and with the first "defeat" of Mallus when they lost the time drive from the jump ship as well as Rip (RIP Rip, please don't ever come back) they were already getting their buzz on when they learned the creature wasn't dead.
Still, that didn't stop their leader from taking the thirsty group to the bar right after they stepped off the Waverider into the safety zone of the Old West.
Did I skip over Rip's death too fast? He's dead, right? What a pleasure to give him that short eulogy above. He has overstayed his usefulness by two seasons.
Rip was all kinds of fun when he was deposited in the wrong time without his memory on Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 1, but that was fixed by the end of that premiere, sadly. It's his time to go. So let's not pick up another version of him in another timeline. He's useless.

It's too easy for characters to return to the Arrowverse. Damien Darhk died again. This time he was saving his daughter, Nora. It was a good death. Will he be allowed to keep it? Since Ray ensured Nora won't rot in time prison, we will always need to be on edge. The Darhk's can come back any time.
It annoyed me how many times the jump ship was used after the time drive was taken out of it to power the Waverider again. Nobody had time to run off to TimeMart to get another time drive before the fighting in the Old West began, so how were they using that ship?
Stuff like that grates on my nerves.
Mick: Looks like phallus...
Wally: Mallus...
Mick: Mollus has brought back our little buddies.
Seeing those the gang met along the way from Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 was OK. I didn't have any attachments to any of them, to be honest, and they didn't serve any great purpose in the finale.
Helen of Troy fighting Cesar's Roman Army was ridiculous. On her best day, she couldn't pick up that sword, let alone swing it if it wasn't made out of cardboard. Couldn't they have gotten someone who was fit for the job?
Someone other than Nate and Amaya getting action was appreciated. Zari is usually a lot like Jonah; she's straight and to the point.
Sara: So, who died and made you sheriff?
Jonah Hex: That would be the old sheriff.
But even Zari didn't find it all that romantic when Jonah gave her his "old, dirty hat" as a keepsake of their time together. She called it weird, but sweet. I wouldn't be surprised, though, to find out she took the jump ship out for a date with him. Why not? Isn't that what the Legends do these days?

To be fair, they should get a few more jump ships so they have them available for, you know, missions. It's too easy now for someone to be gone on a pleasure trip when they need the jump ship to help someone who needs it.
Jax came when called to the group, too, which was cool. While I don't expect everyone to come back for a trip, it's nice to know some will when their help is needed.
If anyone has a reason to stay home these days, though, it's Jax with a wife and new baby. He successfully retired from the Legends business. Isn't that nice? Even Roy can't retire from Arrow, apparently, as he's been called back to his red suit and will be abandoning Thea as he just promised he never would.
Once Beebo saved the day and everyone was patting each other on the back and drinking again, Amaya finally admitted it was time to leave.
While I was hoping she would take Nate with her, I'll settle for Nate being single in the future. Can another male get a crack at the romantic story angle or will it always be Nate? What is so special about Nate?
The totems are gone, safely in the possession of Kuasa, who is sharing Vixen duties with Mari. Another callout to Arrow belongs here -- hey, Oliver and Diggle, you call yourselves brothers, if two sisters can share Vixen, surely you can share Arrow. Aren't two of anything better than one?
I'd like to see the next season branch out a bit more and try some stories that don't feel like rehashes of all we've seen before on other Arrowverse programs. Even in the Old West, Wally was as excited in his western wear as Ray once was. Don't copy.

Even with Constantine trolling the Legends in Aruba, "The Good, The Bad, and the Cuddly" wrapped up the season really well since there was no clue if the show would be renewed.
It wasn't overly exciting, but it did what it needed to do and set up what's to come.
While you wait for whatever that might be, you can watch DC's Legends of Tomorrow online to keep them close to your heart.
