iZombie Round Table: Has Chase Reached a Point of No Return?!

at .

On iZombie Season 4 Episode 11, the gang experiences a devasting loss when Isobel dies.

Elsewhere, Dale and Clive called it quits, and Chase may have lost his companions for good. Will Major turn his back on his commander and friend after his despicable actions?

Join TV Fanatics Stacy Glanzman, Lizzy Buczak, and Jasmine Blu as they discuss the hour.

On a scale of 1-10, how sad was Isobel's death?

Stacy: 10. Even though I was expecting it, it was still incredibly sad. It was obvious with the games she was playing that eventually, it would be real; like the boy who cried wolf. It didn't make it any less devastating. It was especially heartbreaking when Liv and Ravi were watching that video of her.

Lizzy: 10+! Like Stacy said, it was expected, but that didn't make it hurt any less. And every time she pretended to be dead, I also thought "the girl who cried wolf." I was almost expecting them to walk in and assume she's pretending only to find out this time it was for real.

Jasmine: 10. I knew it was coming, especially since she was crying wolf so often. It still devastated me when it happened though. Holy crap, Ravi's reaction and Rahul Kohli's performance during that scene were incredible.

Liv and Ravi Mourn

Chase shot Jordan and killed Captain Seattle. Are you shocked by his actions? Will this cause Major to turn on him?

Stacy: It was surprising. This was probably the most I've liked Major all season. I'm ready for him to be his own man again and stand up to Chase. I like him better when he's on Liv's side.

Lizzy: That was very unexpected and unlike Chase but given all the stress he's been under, it's understandable. I think it finally opened up Major's eyes. He's been blindly following Chase because it's benefited him but now, he'll realize just how terrible FG is for the rest of the zombies.

Jasmine: I agree that this is the most I've liked Major all season. It's the most he's felt like Major all season. I can't say Chase's actions surprised me because it has been building for some time. I still flinched during that scene though.

Are you disappointed in the direction Chase and the Fillmore Graves storyline has taken this season?

Stacy: Yeah, I've been disappointed in this season in general. It just hasn't been very compelling. I'm ready to move on from Fillmore Graves.

Lizzy: I just feel like FG is a bit lost. No offense Chase, but you just aren't that good of a leader. I'm most annoyed by Russ Roche, though.

Jasmine: I feel like FG has been a series of missed opportunities, and that has made me frustrated all season long. FG deserved more development and proper screentime. Chase needed it too. Russ is a stain on the season, and I want him to die a horrible death.

Did Dale make the right choice letting Clive go?

Stacy: She made the only choice she could have given the video she saw. She will never be able to give Clive kids. Eventually, he would have broken up with her or come to resent her. She had to let him go find happiness with someone who could give him kids.

Lizzy: Yes. About time! This relationship was deader than half the zombies in New Seattle. They were together because it was familiar but at the same time, they both began resenting each other, and Clive even resorted to cheating. This way, they'll both have a fair chance at happiness.

Jasmine: Technically, Clive didn't cheat because Dale decided they should be in an open relationship.

I had high hopes for the couple at the beginning of the season, but they didn't spend time on the two of them trying to navigate through their interspecies, or whatever, relationship. At this point, it was better to break it off than drag it out any longer.

Should Peyton stay in DC? How did you feel about meeting her parents but still not seeing any of Liv's family post-Discovery Day?

Stacy: No, I like Peyton, and she's just starting to get meaningful screen time. I don't want her to stay in DC, even though she'd be safer there. To be honest, I hadn't really thought about Liv's family at all, but it is a little weird we haven't seen or heard from them at all.

Lizzy: For her sake? Yes. For our sake? No.

There's a major battle brewing between the humans and the zombies, and she does not want to be there when it happens. However, since she's technically interim Mayor, I think she'll come back, especially since Isobel passed while she was away.

Jasmine: I agree with Stacy. She just started getting interesting, so she needs to stick around. I liked how Ravi handled Peyton's parents, but I kept thinking about the fact that we haven't seen any of Liv's family in years.

Germaphobe Brain

Do you have a favorite scene, quote, or any stray thoughts?

Stacy: Humor-wise, I laughed at Major after he had to eat the truth brain and they asked him about Chase. My favorite scene had to be Ravi begging Isobel to wake up, knowing that she wasn't playing games this time. That was just so heart-wrenching and hard to watch.

Lizzy: I find sneezing to be hilarious and could not stop laughing when the guy sneezed, and Liv felt backward out of her chair. I'm laughing just picturing her face.

Jasmine: I have to go with Ravi at Isobel's bedside. That crushed me. It was some of Rahul Kohli's best work on the series.
