We may be saying goodbye to The Originals in the next few months, but we will be welcoming a brand new series set in the supernatural universe during the 2018-2019 season.

The CW has officially ordered a Hope Mikealson fronted spinoff which will be set in Mystic Falls aka the setting of The Vampire Diaries.

With The Originals coming to an end, it means fans will get to watch the continuing adventures of Hope as she continues her tenure at Salvatore School for the Young & Gifted.

Per the official description:

Continuing the tradition of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted.

Klaus Mikaelson’s daughter, 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson; Alaric Saltzman’s twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman; and other young adults come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves…in spite of their worst impulses.

Will these young witches, vampires and werewolves become the heroes they want to be — or the villains they were born to be?

If you watch The Vampire Diaries online, you will know that Caroline and Alaric opened the school following the death of Stefan.

Hope went to the school on The Originals Season 4 when it became apparent that the supernatural forces were not going to stop trying to kill her.

She went there under her mother's surname because, well, the Mikaelsons always seem to have a face from the past chasing after them.

Matt Davis is also tapped to lead the series alongside Danielle Rose Russell. There's no confirmation as of yet whether Candice King will return as Caroline.

Oh, and we almost forgot to mention the title of the series. This one will be titled Legacies, and we do not know how to feel about it.

The Vampire Legacy has a better ring to it, right?

In any case, we're just happy that we will get more stories from the world of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. There are so many characters we would like to return.

Wouldn't it be great to catch up with characters like Bonnie Bennett and Matt Donovan?

Aria Shahghasemi, Quincy Fouse, Kaylee Bryant and Jenny Boyd are also attached to the series.
