Anthony Bourdain Honored with Travel Channel, CNN Tributes

Anthony Bourdain's death by apparent suicide has stunned the world.

His gift of delivering the human condition by way of cuisine through his talents as a chef, writer, and storyteller took fans around the world opened them a sensory experience they would never have without Bourdain's unique and compelling delivery.

As a tribute to Anthony Bourdain and his gift of sharing extraordinary places near and far, Travel Channel will air a 12-hour marathon of the Emmy Award-winning series Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations this Sunday, June 10 starting at 7:00 a.m. ET/PT.

Fans will have a chance to watch some of the most celebrated episodes of the series

Included are those where he introduces viewers to the picturesque landscapes, exotic cuisines, and the mysterious history of Laos; his epic journey to Spain's Costa Brava to cook and dine at El Bulli, the “best restaurant in the world,” with chef Ferran Adria; and where he explores the food and people of the "two Maines."

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations was awarded two Emmy Awards and nominated for dozens of others during its run on the Travel Channel.

It was in 2013 when he made the leap to CNN and his current Emmy-Award winning series, Parts Unknown, on which he was working at the time of his death.

His best friend and French chef Eric Ripert found him this morning non-responsive in his hotel and mourned his friend in a tweet:

"Anthony was my best friend," Ripert tweeted. "An exceptional human being, so inspiring & generous. One of the great storytellers who connected w so many. I pray he is at peace from the bottom of my heart. My love & prayers are also w his family, friends and loved ones."

"It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain," CNN said in a statement.

"His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller.

"His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time."

CNN will be airing three nights of special programming, beginning with a special titled, "Remembering Anthony Bourdain" airing Friday and Sunday nights at 10/9c.

CNN will also begin airing some of Bourdain's favorite Parts Unknown episodes beginning on Saturday at 8/7c. The regularly scheduled episode will air on Sunday at 9/8c with an introduction by Anderson Cooper.
