Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 3 Review: The Rock Is Going to Roll

Things are continuing to get a bit more complicated for Trace and Abby on Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 3

They're trying to do their best at being a family, but it's becoming more difficult as Trace's fame continues to rise. Not only that, but "The Rock is Going to Roll" also had Connor learning the whole truth about Danielle.

We weren't surprised to see things get a bit tangled when Kevin and Mick decide to help out with the bed and breakfast. Yikes.

What's My Role? - Chesapeake Shores

Abby: Between his experience and Kevin's education, running the B and B will be a piece of cake.
Megan: I'm not cleaning up!

It certainly didn't take long for things to go south on that front as Kevin wasn't even sure about teaspoon measurements!

But things were made more complicated by the conversation going on in the kitchen between Kevin and his father as well. We're questioning the path of Kevin and Connor's relationship at the moment!

Not that brothers don't often fight and disagree, especially in their adult life. But Kevin and Connor have always been extremely close and able to talk out any issues they have. Things are just extra complicated this time around.

Mick: So, you and Conor still not speaking?
Kevin: Uh, not really. Ever since he moved out, we just haven't seen each other all that much.

Yeah, we're sure you haven't been seeing each other. But we're also pretty sure that's because Kevin is doing his very best to avoid his brother for as long as possible. No one wants to have to bear the news of seeing their sibling's significant other out with someone else.

They certainly don't want to have to face their sibling after telling sharing the news.

Chesapeake Shores is a small town, so it doesn't take long for Kevin and Connor to come face to face.

But this is one argument where we're having a difficult time choosing a side. We get where Kevin is coming from because if we saw our sibling's significant other with someone else, we would feel compelled to tell them as well.

On the flip side, maybe going to Connor in a public place and full on calling his girlfriend out for cheating on him without any real evidence may have been a mistake.

There were better ways to approach the situation, and there were better and more discreet places to bring up the subject in the first place. So, we're kind of with Connor on that part.

But ultimately it turns out to be revealing. Connor confronts Danielle in a much nicer way than we would have. When he confronts her, she admits that she had dinner with an ex-boyfriend, but Danielle doesn't seem to be willing to give up any other details about the encounter.

Except that she is no longer sure of her feelings or their relationship. We thought things were going so well, too. Now our hearts are breaking for Connor.

Connor: Hey, Danielle. I gotta ask you something. You're not seeing someone else are you? I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked you that. Or maybe I should have.
Danielle: Connor. You remember Davis, that guy from undergrad? Last week, we had dinner.

This whole conversation had us feeling more than just a little upset at Danielle.

Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 3

Pretty much to the point where we weren't allowing ourselves to even see her side of things. We're still not there yet, and we aren't sure if we ever will be. Especially considering how things seemed to end between them.

Danielle: Connor, I really like you, it's just that, I don't know. There's something.
Connor: Not right.
Danielle: Yeah.
Connor: Why didn't you tell me? You could've told me.

Meanwhile, Megan is still trying to find her place within her family even after three years. Something that doesn't seem to have gotten any easier for her after all this time.

We can certainly understand how there would be quite an adjustment period when moving from the big city to a small town. But her talk has us worried that Megan may be thinking about taking off again soon. Something we don't think our hearts could take.

Trace is loving not only being with Abby but being with the girls as well. He certainly fits into the part of father quite comfortably as well. His impromptu bedtime story to the girls was entertaining as well as heartwarming.

Family Time - Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 3

Add to that how well Trace gets along with Abby's entire family, and we're going to be just as upset as Abby when he has to leave again.

But Trace doesn't always get to be the good guy. He does always have the girls' best interests at heart, but they are young and don't see it that way.

So when he tells them they can't go into the water alone because he's worried about their safety, things don't go well, especially when the girls bring up the fact that their father always lets them do it, and Trace isn't him. Ouch.

David is undoubtedly melting all of our hearts as well, especially when he gives Jess a complete Sixteen Candles reenactment. Kitchen table kiss and full dialogue right out of the movie included.

Talk about swooning. Then there are the sweet words he not only says to Jess but acts on as well. But David's family is keeping his attention diverted away from Jess and focused on their family company, leaving Jess to her own devices most of the time.

Then Jess finds out the truth not only about Bree's book. The main character in Bree's book isn't based on Jess but herself.

Though this does prove to bring Jess and Bree closer than ever before. It also finally allows Jess to realize that she wasn't the only one hurt by their mother.

Being around David in his element has Jess a little unsure of where they stand. While we agree entirely with Bree when she tells Jess that none of that matters because David is choosing to be with Jess and love her, it seems to be a conclusion that Jess needs to come to on her own.

The good news is that something good has come out of the whole situation, and that's the closeness that has developed between Jess and Bree.

The closeness between Kevin and Connor seems to be back better than ever as well.

Cooking In the Kitchen - Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 3

Now that Connor has had time to confront Danielle, get the truth, and decide for her, Kevin seems to be feeling a bit more forgiving. While we aren't sure if we would forgive Connor quite so quickly, but Kevin is clearly far more generous than we are.

On the business front, Mick makes a trip to the office to see Abby, but the only work he seems interested in talking about is the cooking going on down at the B&B.

The main thing we learned was that Kevin absolutely could not make quiche. Mick also wanted to talk about Trace and make sure Abby was doing okay with their short time together. Something we're still concerned about as well. The main thing we learned was that Kevin absolutely cannot make quiche.

Up next, Chesapeake Shores takes us for a ride with more drama than ever as Abby goes to a show with Trace and Jess finds out an invasive secret about David's family involving her life. What can it be??
